Hunters, what are they exactly? What does it mean to hunt? What is the true meaning of prey exactly? Some take the time to ask these questions, most unfortunately don’t, even then, as you find yourself at the end of the Hunter’s exams, asking that question seems and less important, having made it through such trails to gain a Hunter’s license. A Hunter, as you already well know, is little more than a mercenary that follows the orders of the Hunter’s association, led by the Chairman Netero. There are very few things required to be a hunter outside of completing the exam, one being something to drive you, a Hunter doesn’t become a Hunter just because, you must need something to push you forward, anything. Outside of their orders anyone with an Hunter’s license can travel to nearly anywhere on the planet without the need to pay as well as do almost anything without limits. Of course, there are limits, but those limitations are so small that Hunter’s license are almost impossibly valuable, which makes the Hunter’s exam so difficult. After the trails you’ve gone through, you have made it to the end without dying, now you’re one of the most free people in the world, or if you sell your license, set for life. The Hunter’s exam coordinators walk over to the center of the vast room you find yourself in, Antonio (One of the coordinators, and Jester’s character), shuffling his strange deck of cards with a genuine smile on his face, stands on the pedestal “Well done everyone! You made it enough to become Hunters, your licenses will soon be passed out, and whatever you do with them is none of our business. After all, they are now your property as a Hunter. Good luck.”

Also, if you read the rules(including what Nen is), name another forum goer if you would.
What is Nen? (There is a lot. You only have to read the first paragraph to understand, but if you want to know more, read the second)
In this world, every living being as a supernatural energy within them. This energy is called Aura, and it is the basis for all things relating to the usage of Nen. For most, Aura simply leaks from their body through these things called Aura Nodes. flows out harmlessly. Most people would stay this way for their entire lives, unless they learn how to manipulate their Aura by learning to force open their Aura Nodes, as well as being able to close them. This can be done in one of two ways. The first way is the safest way, but it’s incredibly slow. This is through careful meditation, gradually learning to sense and control their Aura. The second way is much faster, known as Initiation. By having someone already trained in the use of Nen expose the initiate to a large amount of external Aura, typically in the form of a small, light burst of Aura. Though if the initiator is inexperienced or holds even the smallest amount of malicious intent it may result in harm to the student, possibly even killing them. For this reason, Initiation is frowned upon. Now, Nen is the usage of Aura in a multitude of ways, and all those who can use Nen can sense the Auras of others, allowing them to track Nen users.?The 4 most basic ways that all Nen users should have managed to learn are callled the Four Major Principles, being Ten, Zetsu, Ren, and Hatsu. Ten is the act of enveloping oneself in a shroud of Aura. This shroud keeps Nen users young and lively, incredibly one’s lifespan and allowing them to remain strong in old age. Zetsu is the art of completing shutting off your Aura, making you almost impossible to sense. Though you still can be located through conventional means. By closing Aura Nodes, you lose your own Aura, but become hypersensitive to the Aura of others, making it perfect for trailing others on secret. Finally, by keeping Aura within your body, you may relieve fatigue, allowing you to keep going when the average human would collapse from strain. The third Major Principle is Ren, which is enhancement. Ren is the most basic of the Major Principles, as it is no more than using your Aura to boost your physical capabilities, such as speed, strength and durability. Finally, there is Hatsu, which differs from person to person. Hatsu is one’s individual Nen ability, a unique manifestation of one’s Aura. This is often used in conjunction with the other three Principles.
Of course, there are more ways than just the Principles. Each of these takes much longer to learn, being advanced usages of the 4 Major Principles. There is Gyo, an advanced application of Ren by which a Nen user concentrates a larger than normal portion of their aura into one specific body part. It increases the strength of that one body part, but leaves the rest of the body more vulnerable. There is In is an advanced form of Zetsu used to render one's aura imperceptible, even to other Nen users, effectively concealing it. Unlike Zetsu, however, In does not stop the user's aura flow; instead, it hides it, making it impossible to perceive with any of the five senses or extrasensory perception. There is En, which is an advanced application of both Ten and Ren, enveloping an area with your Aura, allowing you to sense the shape and movement of anything that enters your radius. In order to it to be considereda successful use, you must cover at least a 2 meter radius and hold it for at least a minute, though both these numbers can be increased with practice. There is Shu, an advanced application of Ten. Shu allows a Nen user to enshroud an object with their aura and to use that object as an extension of their own body. For example, one could use Shu to extend their Ten around a weapon, which would strengthen and protect it. There is is Ko, a combination of Ten, Zetsu, Ren, Hatsu, and Gyo in which all of the user's aura is concentrated into one particular body part. Gyo focuses aura on a part of the body, while Ten prevents it from dispersing. Zetsu is used to completely stop the flow of aura in all other parts of the body, increasing the output in the desired area. With Ren, the amount of aura is increased even further. Though this allows immense offensive power, the rest of the user’s body is left completely exposed, making it incredibly vulnerable to attack. Finally there is Ryu, which is the term for use of Gyo while in a state of Ken to perform real-time offensive and defensive value adjustments. If Ko dedicates 100% of one's aura to offense or, much more rarely, to defense, and Ken splits it evenly between the two, Ryu is redistributing one's aura according to any other percentage
Nen rules
There are six branches of Nen, with each branch having different sub abilities. The branches are, Enhancer (which does as the name suggests and enhances the body or an object), Conjurer (which creates objects or a specific object, the most likely to have a specialist sort of ability outside of the specialist branch), Transmuters, (who can change their Nen's aura properties to become other things such as electricity or a gum-like substance, side things having more uses than first thought of), Emitters (who cause their Nen to make some sort of projectile), Manipulators (which put their Nen into conduits to manipulate other beings or things), and Specialists (who at the cost of not having any of the others abilities have access to a greater more powerful ability such as stealing people's Nen abilities by passing certain conditions.). And while rare, it is possible to become a Specialist later in life, with Manipulators and Conjurers having the best chances. If someone were to become an Enhancer, they would still be able to use the other branches to a lesser profencincy, specifically, 80% for Emission and Transmutation, 60% for Manipulation and Conjuration, and 0% for Specialization.
There are six types of Nen, as previously established. You get to decide your own ability, which would work best when related to your Nen type. If you cannot decide on what type to choose (or simply feel like taking a random chance) you may roll for it. 1- Enhancer, 2 - Transmuter, 3 - Emitter, 4 - Conjurer, 5 - Manipulator, 6 - Specialist. Abilities should be fair and makes sense with your type, outside of that, as long as you ask the mods, your ability can be anything within reason. An Enhancer would have d10 for anything Enhancer related due to profencincy, d8 for Transmission and Emission, and d6 for Conjuration and Manipulation. Nen Contracts allow you to give something up in exchange for greater power, like not being able to use an ability unless against certain people, in exchange for making that ability incredibly strong against them.
How each Nen type interacts with other types they are not proficient in works as follows
Enhancer: 80%: Emission and Transmutation. 60%: Manipulation and Conjuration. 40%: None. 0%: Specialization.
