you see a dark shape in the water, moving at sporadic speeds, but always moving
“How did the lake monster get into the ocean?” Murphy asks himself.
the shape seems to be minding its own business. its big. with a lot of appendages. the lake is freshwater, it comes from a spring. it doesn't connect to the ocean
Murphy grabs his bow, just in case. “Hey! Lake monster!”
*a reminder on the rules of underwater combat! all but certain weapons IE, tridents, harpoons, have disadvantage on attack rolls!*
one of the appendages get closer to you
Murphy backs up, putting down his bow. He’s shaking.
the appendage gets closer, followed by others. they're long, like tentacles, or tails, or tounges. its impossible to tell wich

you can almost hear the dramatic boss music as three of the appendages rise out of the water. they're necks, long and strange and scaly, each topped with a head, a mixture of serpentine and canine, with large, glowing eyes.

this....thing. its....wrong, you shouldn't be here....it looks like something old. a creature from the dustiest of myths, half-forgotten in these modern times. the chimeric mixture looks wrong, but also.....right? like its how it should be. this.... monster is strong. too strong for you. you should run, and hope it doesn't attack.
