Magic is considered a royal/wealthy privilege, but it exists and is highly advanced in the upper levels. I’m thinking of designing a custom class of spells that revolve around Holy power. Kinda like an elden ring faith build. For now tho you can be a higher up regular spell caster if you want*

Bill nods at the newcomer. His Greathelm still hides his expression. He speaks in his gruff, Scottish voice. “Welcome to me tavern. How can I help ye?”

He can see steel gears and screws underneath the figure’s pale skin, as well as what appears to be a ruby or other gemstone dimly emitting the same light as from under their hood. “Cask. This one’s been running north for a while now, I was hoping to see how far he can travel and cut him off soon.”
Bill nods. “What’s the bounty on account of?”
“Attempted murder of a Priest. Know anything about him?”
“Can’t say that I do. I try ter keep the politics and news out of me tavern.”
“I was implying that perhaps he stopped here on his journey north, and that maybe you recognized him.”
