 "I do regret it but there is naught to be done. This is my lot." He lowers his head to the tea cup and tastes its contents with its forked tongue. "The Crimson King was the root of my power. I served him unknowingly for many years, and as I delved deeper into the shadows he revealed himself to me. He made an offer to me and I saw it as an opportunity to grow in might. His might. But in the end, my plans failed. The heavenly ones came and fought against my master, Cherovni. They sealed him back in this realm and I was killed in the process. But death did not loosen the Crimson King's hold over me. He dragged my soul down to this dark world with him as he was banished. Do I regret allying myself with him? Yes. Do I have shame for selling eternity for a momentary glory? Yes. But I dealt with devils and now..." He raises his head back up at you from where it hung in shame, "I am a snake."
