Jane is keeping watch around the perimeter of the area, having heard of wolves attacking recently. She seems on edge.
Will stumbles up to Jane. “Need someone to keep watch with you… hm?” He notices her odd trait.
She turns to Will, pausing when she sees him. After a few seconds, she responds.
”oh, yeah! That’d be great. Thank you…”
He slaps his head a few times, causing it to get red. “Sorry… I’m just… not used to seeing people who have no memorable traits.”
She nods. “It’s what’s special about me. Nobody can remember what I look like. Can’t be photographed either! I’m Jane. Or, well, that’s what everyone calls me. Not my legal name. I don’t even know what my legal name is.”
“Nice to meet you, Jane. I’m Will. I think that’s my legal name. Never looked at my records. Parents could be lying to me.” He smiles slightly.
She smiles a bit as well. “Don’t know why they’d do that. So you’re probably right!”
“What got you out here? Well, I mean, why are you on the battlefield and not, Y’know, safe at home?”
“My powers manifested when I was about nine. My parents did not recognize me and they kicked me out. I thought that joining the military might be a bit better than living on my own with no family or friends for the rest of my life.” She says nonchalantly, not changing her tone at all. “And besides, now I have a way to put my powers to use!”
“That-that’s rough. I’m sorry. If it makes you feel any better, my parents aren’t great either. My older brother was awesome, and after he died, they forced me to try and be an exact copy of what he was like.”
“…that’s rough too. So you don’t wanna be here?”
“No. I don’t. Why did you choose to join the military instead of… I don’t know, using your powers for evil?”
*She would make the perfect robber.*
She blinks, looking down, before looking back to Will. “I have… once or twice. Just shoplifting. For food, mostly.”
*absolutely. Nobody can provide an accurate description of her*
“Woah! Does the military know?”
“No. And it’s gonna stay that way.” She says, serious.
“I won’t tell them. I’m not a tattletale.”
“Good.” She smiles a bit. “I’m not sure if they’d care all too much, but I’m just being careful.”

"That's a real shame. Guess that just means you can't go out and die, right? But you're gonna be sent out a few times one way or another. Everyone here is. So you know that means? You gotta survive." Johnny stuffs his hands into the pockets of his trench coat and picks a wheat strand from the ground that he sticks in his mouth.
He points to the wheat. “You stepped on that.” He’s clearly trying to change the subject.
He huffs. "And? Everything's been stepped on."
“You could’ve washed it.”
"Little bit o' dirt never hurt anybody." Will notices for the first time that Johnny isn't facing him quite perfectly. If he could see Johnny's eyes it would be easier to tell, but it's like he's looking a few inches off of where Will is. (Shameless hook hehe)
Will turns around to see what Johnny is looking at.
"What? Somethin' over there?"
“You weren’t looking at me, so I just wanted to see what you were looking at.”
He looks a little confused, then turns the right away. "Sorry, it's a little hard to tell with this wind. Real loud."
“It is windy.” He agrees.
"Messes with the senses." He lowers his shades to reveal his eyes, which are both clouded over. "Blind, ya see."
“Woah! How can you fight?”
"A little bit of my senses, but it's mostly my ability. Let's me know my opponent's move before they make it."

“So like seeing the future!”
"About a second into it, yeah." He puts the shades back on, the sun obviously hurts his eyes.
“Well, that’s a lucky gift.”
"Yeah, in exchange for my sight. Pretty fair trade."
“True. Seems fairly helpful. Does that give you enhanced reflexes since you know if someone’s going to attack and how so you can dodge? Like, if someone’s shot a bullet at you, you could tell so you could get out of the way?”
"I ain't got no enhanced physical abilities. Years and years of training got me where I am. Knowing what's coming ain't the same as being able to stop it. That came from hard work. If I'm lucky, I could maybe shift fast enough to avoid fatal injury from a gunshot."
“Yeah! Have you ever done that?”

“Good.” She smiles a bit. “I’m not sure if they’d care all too much, but I’m just being careful.”
“Being careful is good.” He agrees. “But maybe you should be more careful about who you tell. Some people in camp might be snitches.”

She nods. “Sorry. Usually it doesn’t matter who I told before this, since, Y’know… but you’re right.”
“People can still recognize your name, after you introduce yourself.”

“Yeah. I’ll be more careful then.”
“Are you nervous about getting out on the battlefield? I’m nervous. I have so many places I want to go and things I want to do, it would be a shame if I died so early.”

she nods. “…yeah. I’m hoping I won’t be, like, on the battlefield all too much, more just recon, ‘cos of my skill set.”

“Me too. But I probably will be. I can turn into scary animals and change what I look like. So maybe recon because of the changing what I look like part, but you want a really strong animal on the battlefield.”
