Heya, all! First off: this is my first venture into building a true tavern, so bear with me! Secondly: I’m kinda hating and loving this at the same time, since I wrote all this in a post, then lost it twice!
Now: without further ado, *nope actually wait* I’m Wes for those of you who don’t know me, Wes for those of you who do. Yeah. Cool. *looks around* That’s about it.
Now, without further further ado:
No one expected the poor souls on the Red Dragon to survive. Even those on the ship themselves knew it — as they lifted off, accelerating towards the ship in LEO, they took their last glimpses of a planet that they’d never see again.
They were humanity’s last hope, of course, so some thought that it was grand and valiant to venture off into the darkness; while others simply thought it was a move that doomed humanity even further. But the United Nations authorized its development on March 17th, 2075, and so it was too late for anyone to say anything. There was no hope for humanity on Earth, and so it was time to hang up the phone.
Leaving Earth orbit, the Dragon accelerated to 0.9C, the crewmembers staying in their cryogenic sleep for years. Unsurprisingly, they awoke to a blaring klaxon, a quick cup of coffee, and a briefing on the four thousand errors that had appeared.
A micrometeorite struck the Dragon’s navigation systems, leaving it dead in the water, hurtling through space at a different trajectory.
It was eventually repaired, but it was too late. Commander Suni Carvajai’s speech had already gotten to the crewmembers. No one remembered exactly what she said, but they agreed with it — humanity would survive. Maybe not as planned, but they would.
That was five years ago. Now, the ship still shoots through space at 0.5C while thirty thousand work, live, and play on the ship, furthering the survival of humanity. But…as go all human affairs…things aren’t as they seem.
RULES:
Remember all them permissions, pardner. Naner knows them — ask him what they are.
Yes, we are a bunch of salty space dogs, but we have our code. Nothin’ past PG-13, just fade to black or go to PMs. Mild cursing allowed, but put it in (GP)s if you go any farther.
I know this is evident, but keep all the -isms out of here. I will report you.
Characters 3rd level, homebrew allowed (I’ll make a thread for characters). We can all review each other’s homebrew, but let’s keep things nice, aight? Understand where the other person’s coming from. Give me a description of their features and a quick backstory — how’d you end up on this ship?
Listen to the mods (currently just me :/) If I get some more, listen to them as well.
OOC is like *this*. Let’s keep it to a sort of minimum (or, to phrase it better, cut your quote chains so we don’t die prematurely trying to post while we scroll on mobile.)
Work “007” into your first post to show you’ve read the rules because I like James Bond.

People on the Red Dragon communicate through their devices (although technically they are 'BeiTech Communicators v4.0', there are many different names for them, but essentially it's a phone that holographically projects its data), which allow them to message and talk to other people on the ship as well as find information and query the ship AIs.

*I see no limits on character creation - however, I saw a mention of AI and computer systems. Could I maybe be a kind of virus in the systems? Could be fun, I'm not on often so when I am REALLY weird things happen. If you're good with that; I promise I wouldn't just do whatever without talking it out with y'all first.*
