A wayward soul has went into the casino, their face a wolflike skull, their chest with a plume of fur shaped like a heart. Their tail ends in several sharp spades, and they have a chest shall that's open at the front for their fur. They shuffle a deck of cards, grab a blue devil, and bring it to a game of hearts.
“Heh.” The cough seems to originate from nowhere, resounding through the creature’s ears. People — well, all sorts of things — bustle around them. Then — quiet. No other voice intrudes inside their mind. “Hearts,” comes a rasp next to them. An aging man sits there, skin lined and weathered with wrinkles. He smiles; and his yellow, crooked teeth remind you of a rat. “It’s been a long time since I’ve played that. Deal me in, will you? And my companion—“ he grabs a passing waiter and a drink with it— “—as well. A piece a point, or would you wager something more…valuable?”
They sit down, cracking their neck, cracking their fingers, and sighing a happy sigh. "Mmhmm. How 'bout we wager with souls, 'eh? Just hope ya don't have too much use of yurs..."
The old man's eyes widen. "Souls?" he cackles. "Er...alright..." He trails off, thinking. "I always like to know my opponent before I play. Who are you, opponent?"
*Gonna add a portion on the Soulless soon*
"Maxwell. Died from a rabid wolf-dog. Found it outa the casino I went into, and twas pretty drunk. Tore me t' shreads. Favorite game 's (is) hearts. How 'bout you?"
"I've long since forgotten my name. I died of a curse. Haunted my family for a hundred years, and, when I broke it, it killed me. I'll play anything and everything, so long as I have a good companion and a drink. You seem to be one, and I have an ale in hand, so, by all means, let's go down."
*Should we roll d4 for suit, then d14 for cards? Or should we figure out some way to make this quicker?*
He swishes his blue devil, about the colour of his ghostly skull face. "Hope I am." He shuffles the deck, and hands out cards.
*Feel like d4 d14 works, but how do we hide the type of card from eachother?*
*Hmm. I’m not sure, actually. Could we just roll in a PM with someone else so they can attest to it? Or is there some way to do it online?*
*Probably PM someone. Or maybe I can pm myself and u can pm urself and after the game we can add eachother to the PM?*
*Ooh, yeah. But how do we make sure we don’t end up with the same cards?*
*This feels tedious. I think there’s probably a better way to do this.*

A waiter sashays over to them, wearing a golden-filigree dress. Her hair is long and darkly resplendent, and She looks up at the cat, but her eyes — or, rather, her orifices — hold no warmth, only a dark void. She seems to see them all the same — “Whaddaya want? I have fresh toe bones, some other bites, but those are the specialty. Only we’ve run out of martinis.”

Frech toe bones
She hands the cat a small bowl. Inside sits an assortment of small, meaty bones that smoke in their charred state. “‘Ere you are. Say, who’re you? I haven’t seen you around here. Looks like you just arrived, too, so welcome.” She continues talking, but it’s pretty much gibberish at that point.
