Heyo Beyonders. I've been on this site since late 2023, which is longer than... most of the people currently sticking round, and have had the privilege to experience the threads of old.
However, those threads of old that I enjoyed so much are long gone. So, I thought, why not revive one?
But not in the usual, technically-against-site-rules necroing of an old thread. Rather, I would do a remake, a remaster, a sequel, keeping the soul of the old thread but forging it anew as best I can.
I have a few ideas, which I'll be posting here over time as I dive into the thread backlog. Eventually, I'll make them all into a poll and see which idea comes out on top.
IDEAS AREA: The idea that persuaded me to make this was a sequel of sorts of the thread The Universe Smorgasbord. In this new thread, the world created by the gods was destroyed by a great battle, then rebuilt anew by the Divine Ascendents, the 3 eternal beings that built the world in the first place. Events that happened in the OG Smorgasbord would be translated into lore. I highly doubt that many of the people currently active on DDB remember this gem of a thread (Baalze and Dutch might), which is a great shame, since it was one of my favorites back in the day.
It was a God thread, like the current God TTRPG. It wasn't the OG god thread (that I believe was it's predecessor, the Universe Canvas), but it was one of the first, and SUPER popular.
Lots of stuff happened. There were wars, massive battles, gods dying and being reincarnated. I had several characters there; The Fathomless(god of magic and lots of other stuff) Kavalos(I think that was his name. God of Fire, and some would say treachery. died twice, reincarnated twice.) and Nurgul(God of plagues. Got killed by the devil.) Loads of others as well. It's one of the most storied threads ever, I think.
If you want some events, I'll have to reread all 1131 pages of it...
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Heya everyone! I'm EJO, DDB's resident immortal Welsh medieval rat who appears randomly roughly once every week.
I'm not active much, but always up to talk when I am.
I'm known as CptKurn nearly everywhere but here.
Do not ask me about anything I like because I WILL waffle on for half an hour.

What happened in the Smorgasbord?
Heyo! You can call me Link. Here’s a bit about me:
Roomba Knight, Architect of the Cataclysm, Foxy Lunar Archpriest. Dubbed The Fluffy Bowman by Golden. He/Him
Theatre Kid, Ravenclaw, bookworm, DM, Lego fanatic, mythology nerd, pedantic about spelling. I also love foxes, cats, otters, and red pandas!
I love K-pop Demon Hunters and Korean Mythology. If you want to ask me about something, send me a PM!
I try to keep the peace and be neutral most of the time…

Ok, this sounds like fun to revive. I could bring up Ren again…
