The celestial bodies hurl through the sky, endlessly circling the heavens in the cycle of night and day. That is their duty. That is their lot. They fly through the air and light the day and cool the night. And they never falter. That is, until they do. One moment, everything marches onwards, heralded forth by the incessant drive of Time. The next moment, moments are no more. Time halts. An Eternity is trapped within a second. And in that Eternity, lies a god newly summoned. The god is but a Child, new to this world and yet the newborn is an elder. An Ouroboros of linear Time, a mouth looping back to consume itself. The god smolders with the energy that would be usual for it's arrival, trapped in Time just as all else is as it waits out an Eternity. The god cools. It hardens. Takes form. The young god grows old with Time, and the elder is reshaped into the young. But like all things, even Eternity must end. And so it does. In what seems to be a moment, a new god is ushered into the world. The Child opens it's eyes, observing it's surroundings.
"Well. It seems I've arrived late. As late as Time can be, anyways. Time is rarely late... only too early."
It shakes it's hands off, before picking a direction and walking along an unseen path.
As it walks, the dry dust crunches beneath its feet, and the world seems to pulse with something else. Eventually, it reaches a hamlet of only a few people, mortals building a camp near a small hill. Their god isn't present, but it senses that it might be soon, and it might be a threat. People turn to stare at it, and it receives a few nods.
The Child waves at the townsfolk, smiling a bit. "Hello! Could you inform me as to who your leader is? I'm a bit lost, I'm afraid."
"The Blazing Eye encountered a forest close to here that they felt threatened by. They have not come back yet, but they only left a little while ago."
"... Blazing Eye? That's a stupid name. Why would they feel threatened by a forest?"
"That's what they ask us to call them. A forest means a god, and they want to protect us from gods until the Stronghold is built."
Bríz takes a deep breath. "Your territory is... uncomfortably close to my people. Is there any way you could move it?"
*if you're not okay with conflict, I can change this answer. also it's not even that close, Bríz is just paranoid.*
Ren sighs, amused. "If only I could. However, this is a forest, and this forest and all the animals around it have built homes. I don't think I could move it just like that without uprooting some family's home, or even injuring an animal."
"The forest can stay. It will make good hunting for my people. However, I wish for you to leave."
Ren looks moderately appalled. “You wish to hunt these poor woodland creatures, who have no home but this one, just for food? Surely you have other food sources. And I must stay to help protect them.”
"It is the way of things that people must hunt, and I don't know if you haven't noticed, but the world is a barren wasteland. Food is rare. Would you rather sentient species' die, or have your little bird brains roam around free to do nothing for the world except chirp out pretty songs?"
“Firstly, they’re not bird brains. Secondly, you too are a god. Can you not create a food source for your people so that we can stay safe?”
"Why should I, when such a good source is here? My powers are better spent creating strongholds and weapons and mounts so that my people never need to fear."
“If you even attempt to attack a single one of these creatures, I will raise hell against you and all your people. You will have need to fear if you attack this forest.”
"We have strength in numbers. I do not fear you, but I shall leave you alone for now. You need to accept that hunting is part of the circle of life, you poor being. Maybe we can talk again when you have discovered that."
“Hunting is part of the circle of life, yes. Outright murder of harmless beasts at the whim of a god is not. And you underestimate us. And myself.” Ren begins floating above the ground.
"So you consent to us using your place as a hunting ground? Because that is what I just heard. I will not murder your creatures, I will let my people bring them back so they will not be hungry." Bríz draws their spear from their back, entering a fighting position.
“I never said that. You can create your own food. Why use this place as a spot of murder when you could just save the lives of many by making it yourself?” Ren readies a spell.

"... Blazing Eye? That's a stupid name. Why would they feel threatened by a forest?"
"That's what they ask us to call them. A forest means a god, and they want to protect us from gods until the Stronghold is built."
"... Really? There must be a lot of gods here then. Why does your leader think that you need protecting from gods?"
"I think they've experienced loss in the past from gods. Lost someone they loved, I suspect? It's all very complicated."
"And so your leader thinks it best to isolate all their subjects because of past wrongs?" The Child tilts its head in curiosity.
"Not Sarlok. They trust Sarlok. For some reason." The people around them mutter some more things.
"... You all are very cryptic, you know. Though, given the observed paranoia of your leader, that doesn't surprise me too much..."

Hiya, there! My name’s Gonzalo, but you can call me whatever. I tend to frequent RP threads on this site, and you’ll probably find me there. Nice meeting you!
*hello! would I have the ability to join? (if the answer is obvious, sorry, I just don't feel right just joining w/out asking)*
*Yep you can join :)*
*cool :D could I be the God of the void? (nature) I already have a species in mind (one of mine)*
*Species for them to make or to be? Gods can just be godly tbh, they don't need to be a species.*
*kinda both? do you know the game hollow knight? if not I can explain, if you did It would make it easier*
*I know of hollow knight, haven't played it. So the god will be the same thing as the species?*
*kind of, my god is baised on the shade lord, a ending of the main character, which is one of the species. so it would take the term "made in gods image" more literal. basically if possible the backstory:
"the being of darkness was alone in the void, until it broke free of its shell, and made more of what it was so they and it will never be alone again"* *basically, it was alone in the void, in its shell, when it broke free of its shell it gained its power, and make more beings of what it was (except obviously mortal)*
*giving them sort of a spark of void, to gain life and sentience to the shells it(i) created*

“I never said that. You can create your own food. Why use this place as a spot of murder when you could just save the lives of many by making it yourself?” Ren readies a spell.
Hiya! You can call me Link. Here’s a bit about me:
Roomba Knight, Architect of the Cataclysm, Foxy Lunar Archpriest. Dubbed The Fluffy Bowman by Golden. He/They
Theatre Kid, Ravenclaw, bookworm, DM, Lego fanatic, flautist, mythology nerd, pedantic about spelling. I also love foxes, cats, otters, and red pandas!
I love Korean Mythology. If you want to ask me about something, send me a PM!
