 Yup sorry. This happened a lot while explaining the lore to Gonz too. Probably because there are too many factions.

I ment there are lots of factions critical to the story but maybe add one just for the party

- in my pirate campaign (Yap coming soon) I have 3-4 critical pirate groups however I am adding in and have added in some for example: the Ice Pikes- a group of Canadians party favourite in 2 sentences also fun to roleplay

I love the Ice Pikes. My players seem to love it whenever I do my awful Australian accent for some reason.

I wanna make a dungeon thread with its own leveling system like SAO and Shangri-la Frontier, it came to me last night while my ADHD mind was tired. But like SAO there is a theme for each lvl and a safe zone every 5th floor, and the only way to get to another floor is beating the floor boss.

Any wanna help?

Can somebody tell me if this is good world building for my campaign?

background: For 100 years the eternal maze has accepted participants competing for the prize and glory of exiting.

Organisations for the maze

The creators-

Bit of backstory - they build the maze and watch over the participants

Reason for existence - they exist to help run the maze

Conflicts - the moles for damaging the maze

Alliances - the cultists of the maze, for worshiping them

The nomads-

Bit of backstory - a group that doesn’t settle down to avoid attacks from groups and Gibblers. They give out food to the starving

Leader - 

Reason for existence: constantly moving to avoid from being attacked

Conflicts: enemy’s with the swords of fire for not letting them pass through their land

Alliances - cultists of the maze - cultists provide food, nomads give goods and information.

Problems within the group: it has grown to large so they have split into cells, many dislike this believing strength in numbers.

The cells are fairly autonomous but follow orders from the grand leader

The swords of fire

Bit of backstory - A communist group barricading themselves in a corner of the maze not letting anyone in who hasn’t proved themselves.

Leader - Daraell

Reason for existence: to protect themselves from any who wish to hurt them

Conflicts: enemies with the nomads due to not wanting to risk security, 

Alliances: The survivors, they provide stealth attacks. The swords of fire provide shelter from the maze

Intergroup conflicts: old guard support the leader and his rulings, new order want to remove the leader due to him living a better life than them

Problems in the group: leader refuses to let women be soldiers and the group is straying away from a position of stability.

The group is expected to follow orders

The cultists

Bit of backstory: in the first 5 years of the challenge multiple groups of volunteers came together to worship the maze

Leader - Xarenth

Reason for existence: people who come to worship the maze for shelter and safety

Conflicts: have vowed to destroy the moles, denounced by the collective

Alliances: Nomads - nomads provide information and good, cultists provide food and the creators, they don’t know that the 

Intergroup conflicts: none so far

 Group follows orders from the maze

(Btw the worship actually works)

The moles

Bit of backstory: they want to dig their way out of the maze

Leader - Ollie

Reason for existence: to dig out the maze

Conflicts: Have been the source of raids by the cultists, and once burrowed beneath the the territory of the swords of fire they got chased out and are hated by the creator for damaging the maze

Alliances: no one

The survivors -

Bit of backstory - after weaker tributes were sent into the maze they grouped up and became masters of subterfuge and deception

Leader -

Reason for existence - to group together to protect supplies and lives

Conflicts - collective, they have lead attacks on them citing “they are in sin they must be destroyed”

Alliances - swords of fire, they provide shelter. The survivors provide stealth attacks

The collective -

Bit of backstory - a group of the prominent religion banned together

Leader -

Reason for existence - to provide worship to their gods whist in the maze

Conflicts - the cultists for not worshiping their gods

Alliances - the gods gift them powers
