Sturgeons don't have scales, instead they have bony plates like a stegosaurus. They also originated in that same era. Unlike stegosauruses, sturgeons don't have teeth.

If you catch a Sturgeon in British rivers, you are required by law to offer it to the King. I believe the same is also true of Stegosauruses.
