 No not really like cordyceps. It's a punishment. Like. Cosmic scale. Not lick a spore and become mind controlled; it doesn't make you evil really. It makes you need to be more evil to live, and is a punishment for being evil.

Godsbane (Gods' Bane) Vipers.

Despite their name, they can be any snake; however, they are made with a rot ritual involving someone with large amount of rot. First, they start breaking breaking open their ribcage, tearing off an outer lump of rot, and somehow hiding that to go to a medical worker, to heal in order to before finishing this ritual. They than get a snake, one with venom, and trap it in a cage. They need to feed it rot, and rub rot on its biggest fangs. They than milk the snake, however the venom cannot fall out, as the rot is there; the rot absorbs it, as they massage the rot more and more, before eventually injecting rot into its brain. This kills the snake, for a few minutes, before the rot brings it back; the rot does not fully take over, but stitches the torn parts of the brain. It will not attack those with large amounts of rot, or those that share the rot; the only true case of rot controlling one's mind. The snake's skull rots as flesh and skin fall, and its melds into this being with a broken hide, and holed flesh.

Legends tell of these beasts being sent by people wishing to become gods, and killing them. It is unclear how true this is; to this day. But most of those that are told of in these stories are members of a mafia. Isltiana Ali has dedicated numerous weeks of time to discovering the truth, but is yet to come to a conclusion; all that is known is that Godsbane Vipers can be made, but not if they truely kill gods.
