I just had the idea of running a Call of Cthulu game set in the Soviet Union, in the year 1949. The characters have been ordered to investigate strange happenings in Siberia. These include extreme mutation, entire towns being erased from existence, circular kilometer-wide patches of color-changing, glowing slime, and the buzzing. The eerie, horrifying buzzing.
The player characters would include at least one soldier of the Red Army, a transport pilot of the Soviet Air Forces, an American paranormal investigator who woke up in Moscow with no recollection of how he got there, and (possibly) a criminal who was given the choice between the gulag or this mission.
