Hello! If if you are reading this you are probably either a long term fan of the "You are in a room" franchise, or some on looking to get started! All are welcome and encouraged to join or drop out at any point.
The game is very simple, its a way for DMs to test dungeon rooms or combat encounters, a fun way to test and play a character. You use the built in dice roller for essentially all the things you do. This is like one massive Play-By-Post with no coherent structure or story line that anyone can join! The link to the original thread is right HERE! you don't need to read through all 150 pages of that, the little story there happens to be is basically just character development.
The rules (if you can even call them that) are very, very lax. These so called "rules" (more like guidelines) were formed HERE if you want to see them! That's the original thread.
Basically all you need to know is that:
1. Spell Slots are half replenished at the end of a room!
2. Racial Traits and Class Features are replenished every other room!
3. HP is replenished every 3 to 4 rooms. It was unclear what we settled on, but id air on the side of 4 rooms! (remember, some of us will have healing magic!)
4. Leveling up wasn't really discussed, we can all agree that we are between levels 5-7 but that's about it! if someone wants to suggest leveling up rules or remind me of them if they already exist that would be great!
5. Lastly (and probably most important) Is that this is all very fluid and dynamic, The rules might change but as long as your not doing anything that inst ruining fun, its probably OK. This isn't areal Play-By-Post its just fun dnd that you can bring your weird rules and wacky characters to! (Believe me, I know about wacky characters)
Now, the last room I believe we were on is probably going to get forgotten. If the DM for that wants to come in and pick it back up they are more than welcome too! I think it would be best for someone to start a new room.
Stitch seems to have disappeared. But a new, strangely familiar face has appeared. Mendigo has returned to the training ground to help out Jerry’s friends. Oh, and if you didn’t know, Jerry’s alive again now, and on the way to becoming a deity. So Mendigo is a Living Puppet Paladin (Oath of Jerry). He is immune to being charmed, resistant to fire, can call on Jerry to aid him in battle, and can do Jerry’s firebomb spinny move.

Okay, cool. George will also look around. Perception: 8
Also, I believe we are level 6, and we level up every several rooms. At one point I think someone suggested that we have to get through a number of rooms equal to our level before we level up. So at level 6, we would do 6 rooms before leveling, then 7 before leveling, and so on. I think we should do either that or just a flat “level up every [insert number here] rooms.”

Ok, makes sense. I like the number of rooms equal to your level! What does everyone think?

As the person who suggested this i agree!
I Think most of us are level 6 right now. We might have gotten through one or two rooms after leveling up but i'm not sure. It would probably be easier to count this as the first room and level up after the next 5.

She glances at Mendigo, since she forgot about what happened in the last room, she simply states. "Oh hi Mendigo long time no see." And continues to look around
Alexander wakes up with a start, swinging his ice hammer through the air before he realizes where he is. He takes a moment to compose himself, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. "What a nightmare," he mumbles as he remembers the fight with Jerry. He assumes it must have been a dream since he just woke up. Standing, he nods to Harmony as he approaches her, "Picking a direction seems like our best option."
Then he turns and notices Mendigo. The fight from his "dream" flashes through his head and his eyes go wide. Then he manages to compose himself again, reminding himself that it was just a dream. Hesitantly, he asks, "You're not going to set us on fire are you?"
Kis introduces themself, "I am Kis, the halfling cleric. I like pie." they look around, investigation 10
Kay (a bronze dragonborn) turns to face the newcomer. "The name's Kay, short for Kayaws. I like lightning, fire, and anything chaotic." She pauses, "pie is nice too."
Kis pulls a small rod out of their bag of holding, and it extends into a loong staff which they perch on top of, and it magically twists to allow them to bounce around as they search the room

Everyone suddenly falls asleep from wherever you were on the other thread.
You wake up in a dimly lit room with no walls or ceiling in sight.
I, Kis the halfling Cleric, look around

Mendigo— Leader and only individual organism of the Jerry Hive. Used to play him in DM Training Ground—You are in a Room. It’s really fun— go check it out!

Just flat minds in a flat world with flat dreams. Boooooring. Who wants to cause some chaos?

Yeah sure that works, should we say that everyone’s the same level or new players start at level 1?

Same level sounds better to me. I believe Harmony is currently level 6. How about we all start over on hps and spell slots with the new thread?

Only spilt the party if you see something shiny.
Ariendela Sneakerson, Half-elf Rogue (8); Harmony Wolfsbane, Tiefling Bard (10); Agnomally, Gnomish Sorcerer (3); Breeze, Tabaxi Monk (8); Grace, Dragonborn Barbarian (7); DM, Homebrew- The Sequestered Lands/Underwater Explorers; Candlekeep
yes, to everything you just said!
The room has an obsidian floor, and you can see nothing within 60 feet.
‘Should we pick a direction and start walking?’ Harmony asks the others.
