George will investigate the tiles, specifically to determine the types of animals and any patterns in what animals are or are not present: 17
The tiles span from one wall to the other, presenting no place to step. In the dim light of the corridor, you can see the first 5 tiles before they disappear into indiscernability - they show images of (in order) a Piercer, a Quaggoth, a Beholder, a Pseudodragon, an Ogre, and what looks, in the dim light, to be some sort of fish on the 6th tile.
As you're investigating, you hear a loud clunk from just in front of you as...
Mendigo will stand on the nearest tile whilst sticking his hand in the nearest hole.
The tile drops slightly under your weight, Mendigo, and you have just a moment to discern a swooshing sound - make me a Dexterity Save please, Mendigo!
I cast light on my staff to better be able to not die.
The light illuminates the corridor, but it's a bit flickery, and not as intense as it usually is. You get the sense that there's something interfering with the magic in this place.
Harmony grabs a silver piece from her pocket and tosses it onto the second tile (to check the traps).
The silver piece rattles onto the second tile, but doesn't seem to cause anything to happen.
Mendigo, a colossal blade scythes down through the air towards you - I need you to make a dexterity save (DC15) to dodge it!
Success (15+):
You fall backwards off the tile and land prone. The blade just scratches you as it passes, dealing 1 slashing damage.
Failure (1-14):
You turn to see the blade as it carves directly into you, splitting your wooden body as easily as a woodaxe splits kindling. You then find yourself appearing and landing hard at the entrance to the corridor, as everyone ahead of you stares in horror at the scattered splinters in the corridor ahead!
Everyone else - Mendigo seems to have set off a trap by stepping on the Piercer, the outcome of which we will know when they return to roll for it!
Kay will look into the hole next to the pseudo dragon if she can do that without stepping on the tile.
The tiles extend across the full width of the floor, and there's no gaps in between - each one is about as wide as a pace, so if you were to stride confidently down the corridor, which seems like a bad idea considering what's happening to Mendigo, you would step on each one in order.

After Mendigo sprung the first trap, did the colossal blade stay out or did the trap reset? If the trap does not reset, Kay will try to look inside the hole above that tile.
Kay is currently trying to peer into one of the holes without stepping on the tiles to get there. You see that the floor is entirely made of these wide tiles, each of which span the corridor from one wall to the other, and are about 3 feet long, and each are engraved with these images of creatures you've met on your travels (or in Angelinos case, may have read about in his personal library). You can't really see anything in the holes from this angle.

Here is my last post. I wanted to know if the trap reset after Mendigo sprung it. If it didn't reset, Kay would stand on that tile and look into that hole.

Apologies, I could have sworn I had responded to this! (cue flashback to when I was closing tabs and it said "are you sure?"...)
The blade swung back up into the ceiling and stayed there with a quiet "click". You can just see the sinister edge of the blade in the darkness of the slot, waiting.

No worries!
Now that she knows where it falls, Kay step onto the tile and position herself so that the blade can't hit her, then she will look in the hole.

Hmm, Watch your Manners. Maybe if we cross the tiles without looking in the holes or cross them without stepping on the pictures?
Or are any of these monsters particularly polite?

We could politely ask the creatures if we can cross unharmed.
