Zuli stalks up to the golem and says loudly, “Is this thing just a statue? Or do you wreck on it will spring to life as soon as it’s fully carved?” She looks up at the floating light, green eyes glinting. For a moment, she looks as if she will try and snatch it from the air.
Zuli stalks up to the golem and says loudly, “Is this thing just a statue? Or do you wreck on it will spring to life as soon as it’s fully carved?” She looks up at the floating light, green eyes glinting. For a moment, she looks as if she will try and snatch it from the air.
“Well it’s a golem, so as soon as it’s done being carved it’s going to be coming alive. It might attack, maybe not.”
As you, the hunter, step up to the circle of light, you notice its yellow-ish glow shimmers a little. Darklis, you see the same, and figure it's worth it to try and step in the circle. As soon as you do, the golem is brought to life, eyes glowing the same share of yellow as the circle of light it was looking into. It's low, raspy voice reminds you of stone scraping against more stone, and it booms, "In order to proceed, you must solve a riddle. There once was a knight, looking to save a princess locked up in a tower. The tower was guarded by another golem, much like myself." It's stone eyes close as it continues to tell the tale. "The golem simply said to the knight, 'Twelve'. The knight, not knowing what to say, sat under a tree nearby to think. Soon enough, an old hag approached the golem, to which the golem repeats, 'Twelve'. The hag responds, 'Six,' and is let through. Seeing it was getting dark, the knight decides to camp under the same tree and try again in the morning. In the middle of the night, the hag leaves the tower and returns the next morning." It opens it's eyes again, looking directly at you, Darklis. "The knight wakes up just in time to hear the golem and the hag's next exchange. The golem says, 'Six,' and the hag replies, 'Three,' and is let through. The knight, believing he has the solution, waits until the hag has left to try and pass the golem. The golem says, 'Two,' and the knight replies 'One.' Not a second had passed since the knight spoke, and the golem had raised it's arms and smashed the knight into the floor and kills him. What should the knight have said instead?"
(ooc: I guess that's your answer!)

(Man.. I should start coming up with harder riddles. Y'all are too good.)
To Zuli's comment, the golem looks at you and shrugs, saying nothing. It looks back at you, Darklis, and nods its head once, and the section of the wall where he is carved out of slides out of place to reveal the next door, laid in an indentation in the wall. This door was the same as all the rest, but different writing on it. It read, "A Test of," and the rest of the sign seems scratched off.
(You know what, lemme ask you guys this. What kind of room do you guys want the next room to be? A combat encounter, another riddle? A weird, surreal, dream-esque thing? I've run out of ideas, and I want you guys to have fun. Let's change it up!)

Well im exited to see what a "surreal dream-esque" thing would be, a combat encounter could be fun too.

(Sorry for the wait! I had a few things to sort out about the next room. It should all be good now!)
You all walk into the next room, once again pushing against the ooze. The only difference, however, is that when you all emerge to the other side, you find yourself not in a room anymore (plot twist!! haha!!), but in the middle of a giant field of wild grasses. There's a dirt road, winding through more hills of grass. Occasionally, in the distance, you'll see small clusters of trees and bushes, providing shade to those that travel on the road. The cool breeze carries the smell of summer on its back, accompanied by the sound of grass rustling in the wind. It seems peaceful. The only form of life that you can see, other than the natural flora, is a single black horse grazing on a hill in the distance, and bees going diligently from grass stalk to grass stalk looking for wildflowers to pollinate. Looking behind you, you notice the door is still there, in a freestanding door frame, with the sign "A Test of Pattern Recognition" mounted on top.

“Should we try carving the rest?” Agnomally asks. “That would make sense for pattern recognition, like the sign said.”

I won't even have you roll for this one, Agnomally. The only thing you can see is the golem and the circle of light in front of it on the floor.
(This is for everyone; the light isn't floating, it's on the floor. Like a dungeon portal in some Legend of Zelda games, if you play those games.)

Darklis will examine the light glowing on the floor. If she can't see anything by looking at it, then she will step into it.
(OOC: Is the golem alive? Or can we not tell that yet. Also, I love Zelda games.)

"ohhhhh, that makes a lot of sense..."
"I can see that," Zuli nods, obviously uninterested. She looks up at the golem, "Your life seems rather dull."
Darklis nods, and replies to the Golem, "Three, the knight should have said three."

(These rooms have been fun! LOL these guys are super good at riddles, they've figured out all the ones i've thrown at them pretty quickly.)
(Honestly I'm fine with any of them. Maybe a mix of all three? Just a suggestion.)
Well im exited to see what a "surreal dream-esque" thing would be, a combat encounter could be fun too.
Same! That sounds new and exciting :)
