I feel like we'd have gotten it by now if we were rolling actual dice rather than using the D&DB dice roller.
This is why I wanted to do a probability study on this action. I'm not going to sit here and roll DDB dice all day, but if others will help do that, I'm interested in seeing if the DDB model is close to fair.
The previous target, 18 with 3d6, also went well beyond the number of rolls expected to generate the TN. But that was well underway so that I wasn't going to go back and record all the numbers.
I would like to see if I understand what sequences we are going to try ...
I assume we started with 2d4 (8), and then moved through 2d6 (12), 2d8 (16), 3d4 (12), 2d10 (20), 2d12 (24), 3d6 (18), and 4d4 (16). This is because the number of possible permutations increases even if the possible total of the dice doesn't always increase.

I remember doing a study in the Super Yahtzee Thread that took 2 years and 36k rolls. The odds were what I'd have expected. The random number generator they use is "good enough". Probably much more random than actual dice because nearly all physical dice have a bias of some kind.

Roll number 354 ... and the TN is 16 ... should have rolled it by roll number 177, now we're down to 25.0% ... so let's see where we are so far ...
2 - 4s 9 - 5s 19 - 6s 21 - 7s 41 - 8s 55 - 9s 67 - 10s 44 - 11s 45 - 12s 31 - 13s 17 - 14s 3 - 15s
