We would have done that in AD&D because back then we didn't have twelve sets of dice laying around the house. I remember thinking the d6 was strange, and then I realized the d6 didn't have pips, it had numbers. Anyway ...

At some point, usually defined as 3-sigma in my industry, an occurrence is considered so improbable that it is called "impossible" or "irrelevant". Maybe I will have to compute what 3-sigma is for the 4d6 challenge.
