I guess it's natural to overthink in a game of mafia. Though personally I reckon Drummer is more likely to be jester than mafia, as who would actually risk a triple-bluff?
If he says something suspicious we don't think he's mafia cause of that, only be sus of him for things other people say, like detective scanning him and such

I guess it's natural to overthink in a game of mafia.
WIFOM, or wine in front of me, is a Mafia staple. (References this scene from The Princess Bride.)
So here's what I noticed.
1. We had The Mad Gibbler come out asking if we should share roles. Not sure if that's a newcomer to the Mafia genre or an approach to the game.
My thoughts on role-sharing, particularly with a known setup, are twofold. On the one hand it can be a powerful tool because the biggest advantage the mafia has over the town is that they have more information over the town. Whereas the town is trying to find out what is what. In that light, role-claiming can be a tool to start getting "who might be lying?" lists. For example if only one person were to claim the cop role then we would be able to trust the uncontested claim. And if two people claim the cop role then we could evaluate between them, lynch the first, and they turn out to have been the cop then the next day becomes easy. The only downside is that with two lovers in the game there's an easy target for the mafia to get a twofer and suddenly it becomes 3 to 7. But deaths are the greatest sort of information.
On the flip side, I'm not the greatest fan of role-sharing as a personal preference that figuring out good and evil via a person's actions and only roleclaiming as a last result is something I find more intriguing. (But that's a personal preference, not a hard-and-fast logic-based perspective.)
2. Dutch then comes out attacking Mad Gibbler for suggesting roleclaiming. My first impressions on this are positive, vis-a-vis Dutch. The most deadly thing the town can do is to have a lack of discussion. So starting on leads, even early on without much evidence, is a good thing. It gets us information as people take sides. Unlike in real-life, withchunts in Mafia are good. Because even if the person ends up not be a, quote unquote, witch there's information on who leads the witchunt and who followed the witchhunt.
So while I don't have a read on Gibber from that discourse, my initial thoughts on Dutch were positive. (Emphasis, were, I'm reevaluating.)
3. Then Drummer says "Try not to die." In my opinion, this is just a general platitude and devoid of any meaning. We then have Gibbler speculating Drummer could be mafia. Dutch, after prodding Gibbler on roleclaiming, does't follow this line of attack but instead proffers a defense for Drummer saying he doesn't think it's a mafia-tell and then follows with the idea Drummer is jester. Further going, "If he's jester we should think twice about voting him out."
This double-defense of another player, along with following (not initiating) a line of thinking from someone he'd previous had, albeit minor, suspicions of strikes me as odd. While the evidence at this point may be weak, it feels like a buddy-buddy thing. And while one possible explanation would be the lovers I don't feel like a lover would be suggesting jester. So it makes me wonder if Dutch and Drummer are actually mafia together with Dutch running a cover for his team-mate to deflect suspicion.
Maybe I'm confused, but why wouldn't a lover suggest jester? It would mean that the other person wasn't voted out, and the lovers rely on the other not being voted out. Not that I'm actually telling you that Drummer and I are 'the lovers', but it's something to think about

And I can tell you for a fact, I'm not mafia
As I have said before, you can't exactly say "I can tell you for a fact I'm not mafia" because anyone could always be lying.

Townies claiming non-town roles in my experience, granted it's been some years, tends not to happen. It sets other targets on backs and while it may deter the mafia initially it also gives cover to the real jester to be like "We all know so-and-so is the jester so obviously that's not me" (albeit that type of statement would happen in a different matter) plus it also puts a target on the (not)-jester's back from a vengeful townie to eliminate a non-townie if they die. (Not lynching someone for fear of them being jester can be debilitating so in a situation with no leads on mafia, vengeful taking out the jester is a good ploy.)
Right now all we have is our words, particularly at the beginning when we haven't gotten time to analyze voting patterns on who's leading/following charges against others. As the old saying goes, when life gives you lemons then make lemonade. In Mafia, the lemons to make lemonade comes in the form of putting others on the spotlight to find out what happens.
Dutch is getting rather defensive in my opinion. Of course, who wouldn't be defensive when you're being accused, so I don't know if there is anything to make of that.

I mean, technically they could be, but if Drummer really were mafia, I doubt he'd be dumb enough to expose himself like that.

That would make more sense actually. And if he is jester, that means we'd better think twice before voting him out as that way he would win.

But then he could be pretending to be jester when he's really mafia... Im pretty sure I'm overthinking this.

Wow, that's a lot.
1. Alright, if not sharing roles is funner then I won't unless it's absolutely necessary since I'm doing this specifically for fun.
2. Interesting theorizing, I have no comment since I'm not the best at detective work.
