we have 10 currently, i'd settle for 11 if people are getting bored, but I'd rather there be a decent number of vanilla townies as well as the specialised roles, so it is more balanced

3 non-town is fairly reasonable for a 10-person town. (If you have a recruiter role, nix one to start.) So balance is definitely achievable if you wanted to start.
