Paranoia In Rock Shore (Mafia Game Thread)

As everyone awakes from the night to their despair but not surprise another is dead, Platyboss is laying on the floor next to his bed with a knife in his chest.

It’s not me, mafia is framing me, Platy specifically said that if he died it was me, but I’m not mafia, someone’s framing me.

He never said that. He said that if it's Dragon we should vote you, not if he died we should vote you. There's a difference, and you're twisting words. Also, you could have killed Platy just so you can say that.

I'm gonna go ahead and say this now, I'll probably die if we don't win this day but I have faith in my guess. I'm the detective. That's how I was so confident Dragon was mafia, I investigated them the night before. I just didn't want to say my real reason because I knew that there would be one more mafia after voting them out that would definitely target me. If you don't believe me, then if I was faking the real detective could call me out. As I mentioned the last day, my biggest two susses were Bananer and Bear. I investigated Bear last night. He's town. So my sus is on Bananer.

My bad, now I see it. But my point still stands that you could have killed Platy to say that and gain a defense.

 Yeah, but he did that while kinda defending him at the same time. Nobody else seems that sus in my opinion, and since there's 1 mafia left in like 7 people even if the vote is wrong we won't die because of it.

With Gibbers revealed investigations there’s no doubt it’s Bananer, like Dragon they try to flee but can’t escape.

 Well 3 is too many, you can’t have 2.5. Maybe we need more or less players to make it balanced. Also active players plz

 3 isn't really too many though. It's winnable (see last game), even if the town loses they still had a chance (also mafia often gets lucky and kills the big roles like detective and doctor early). And I agree with active players, but they literally said they were gonna take a break for Thanksgiving and that's understandable. I personally think we should have just extended today until everyone on break got back. 

Personally I think 2 Mafia could destroy the Town, it’s a matter of the game and who died. If Gibber died first you guys probably wouldn’t have gotten very far honestly

3 Mafia may be hard but if the players are really reading and thinking about the game it’s not impossible. It’s all up to the current person running the game anyway

Nah it wasn’t the number, it was because we acted dumb. 

Mafia should never be loyal and I was.

3 isn’t too hard. It’s easier in real life with tone and how people are acting, but here you can analyze more and have other benefits.

Idk, the game isn’t meant to be easy. It’s like playing Elden Ring, part of the game is that it is hard, you made an accomplishment by winning.

In lots of team video games I prefer playing the losing team to try and help them, because then there’s something to work at, the winning team is already winning and it’s kinda boring to absolutely demolish someone, it’s much more fun to struggle and just barely pull it off.

This doesn’t go for everyone, but it’s a solid argument. Mafia wasn’t designed with equal balance in mind, it’s origins are a social experiment.

And again, the host will decide how to balance it, so you don’t need to worry about it. The conversation has been a bit exhausted imo, and I don’t think anyone’s changing their mind
