I’m gonna throw my vote behind “S” — not just ’cause it’s snappy, but have you seen its Morse code? Three dots (· · ·) — short, punchy, and way easier to tap out in a hurry than, say, “Q” (— · — ·) with all those dashes. You can plug both into a free morse code translator and see how quick “S” pops up.
Plus, “S” is in “signal,” “code,” and even “Morse” itself. Dots are faster to transmit, so in a pinch, “S” wins for efficiency.
