 "We could distract it by throwing stones as far away as possible, and get away silently once it's distracted; but that's if it finds us. Which it will if we make too much noise out there.

 "I see. So stones are a second plan. Have any paper?"

Is their another tunnel if so I take note then head back to go down the other tunnel

 There's the other tunnel of the fork in the path.

I go down that one cause I’m assuming the other one was a dead end?

As you walk down the other path, you see a word, roughly carved into the tunnel wall: "careful".
