This is a very simple game. You vote for which class is best, and then post why you think that class is best. Not just mechanically, but in its ability to have fun and role-play as well. If you changed your mind, post a new comment and change your vote.

My opinion is Sorcerer. They may not have as many spells as Wizard, but they ways they can twist them are almost limitless. Plus, they just have a feel of power to them. If an evocation Wizard casts a lightning bolt, the most they can do with it is cause it to bend around some people. Whereas if you are a Storm Sorcerer -*Thunder rumbling*-, then you can break the bolt into multiple pieces to strike those near you, and then cause the thunder from the bolt to push you into the air, away from enemies.
Sorcerer is so fun, and is basically to the Weave as a cleric is to their deity.
I would rank Bard as 2nd and Ranger as 3rd. Both are so good in and out of combat. I really like versatility alongside power.
Hosted a battle between the Cult of Sedge and the Forum Countershere(Done now). I_Love_Tarrasques has won the fight, scoring a victory for the fiendish Moderators.
I love this class because it allows for a spell to function in more than one way with metamagic. A fireball from a wizard at level X is just that. A fireball.
From a sorcerer, however, the fireball can engulph everything in the radius exceptcertaincreatures, delay blast, change color, be much bigger, come as 2 smaller fireballs, or be so subtle that you can’t tell that the sorcerer casted it. You also don’t need to prepare spells, and get access to sorcerous origin features, such as being able to grow and get much stronger, or strike fear into your opposition with the spirit of a dragon. A sorcerer also has access to all the same spells that a wizard does, so they aren’t limited in that regard. A sorcerer also tends to have a high charisma score, for obvious reasons. This allows them to dominate social situations. And with defensive spells, also able to be manipulated, your low HP are no issue.
For example, my favorite situation for roleplay with my sorcerer character, was when someone refused to listen, and I said, “Alright, have it your way”, and walked away. However, as I left, I casted a subtle fireball, and turned arround and said “You are certain. Yes?” In the most fear inducing way. I got advantage on intimidation for that, as the target was already a bit shaken from the surprise blast
Man, this is tough. Wizards, Sorcerers, Warlocks Barbarians, Bards, and Fighters all appeal to me in different ways. Barbarians and Fighters are fun due to their simplicity, allowing me to spend more time roleplaying my actions than choosing which spell to let loose. Wizards, Sorcerers, and Bards are the inverse of that, with many wonderful spells to choose from. Warlocks are somewhere in the middle, with less spells, but still enough to give choices. Charisma is probably my favorite stat, so let's narrow it down to Sorcerer, Bard, and Warlock. I love Bards, but Arcane Casters have always appealed to me more. So the choice is Sorcerer or Warlock. Warlocks are wonderful, and have so many fun roleplaying opportunities. But let's face it, all the classes do, and Sorcerers have (arguably) the best single trait in the game, Metamagic. So I'm going to have to go with Sorcerer.
This will all change the next time I flip through the PHB and find some cool feature that I have completely forgotten about.
Cleric because they are very op and can be the base of some amazing story hooks.
Once, our gnomish Nike war cleric had us visit the largest Nike temple in the kingdom, and we ended up freeing the high priestess from a spell the yuan-ti put on her and also the entire village was also under that spell so we had to go back and kill more yuan-ti.
I like bard because of there many options and they are so fun to roleplay.

Well met, strangers! I’m Kwilgok-once a dinosaur racer, now the best guide in Port Nyanzaru. I’ve traveled up the River Soshenstar to the Aldani Basin and back. I’ve visited so many corners of Chult and can tell you there’s no land more beautiful and dangerous. This is my ankylosaurus, Deadly Treasure. Quite a prize isn’t she? Follows me everywhere. We cost 6 gold pieces a day, with payment for 30 days upfront. Very expensive, yes, but worth it, I promise you.
Resisting is simply standing in front of the tide and pushing at it. Even if you endure at first, you will eventually break down. Adapting, by contrast, is turning into a fish.

Rangers are not underpowered. They’re just exploration-oriented.
I personally like wizard the best. They have enough versatility to do pretty much anything (besides heal). There are infinite backstories for any given wizards. While many other classes are limited by their subclasses, wizard's subclasses focus more on their specialty than their backstory, allowing you much more creativity in designing your character. In addition, wizards are one of the most powerful classes, allowing you to overcome difficult challenges and win. Plus, wizards also have many spells to buff their allies, not just damage-dealing spells.

I chose Bard, because every bard feels unique in how people play it. Some bards are travelers who want to share their art with others, some are party animals, some are deceptive charlatans. Plus, they can be themed around different instruments and different types of arts.
Plus, since we play D&D, we all have a bit of Bard inside of us anyway.

If your DM defends the DM vs Players mindset get outta there fast. My advice as someone with a bad history with this game o7 it gets better.
I love 5e monster & planar lore almost as much as I love complaining about it

I have to say Wizard purely because it is currently the only class I've ever played and I have nothing to compare it to.

I think rogue is the best, mainly because that's the class I most like to play as.
Druid - I just like turning into panthers and ripping goblins to shreds. :-)

Dertinus Tristany // Amilcar Barca // Vicenç Sacrarius // Oriol Deulofeu // Grovtuk
I personally love the warlocks. The patron is great for epic role playing and I just love the Eldritch Invocations. Spells at will is the most fun.
My second and third favourite classes are Druid and Monk.
