anyways, it's up to you if you're home right now. if you aren't, my simulacrum looks around and investigates the area around them, before plane shifting off. if you are around, I cast globe of invulnerability on initiative count 18 and attempt to plane shift away the turn after that
OK then. 1 very important question. Did your Simulacrum try and enter the Teleportation Circle from the Material Plane?
If they didn't, then they can't have entered, but if they did, then thanks to the ready action, the Circle is dispelled and your Simulacrum is trapped - you therefore gain no extra knowledge of the place. Plane Shift won't work.
then I do the method of having a diviner cast contact other plane, and have them use the 5 questions to narrow down your location. the questions being, "is the base on the material plane, is it in the northern hemisphere, is it in the western hemisphere", and so on and so forth, until at 5 questions answered, I can just have scrying cast until I find a place that can't be scried.
I don't know the location, but is the base on the material plane? that's the first question. (for the purposes of the question, I was assuming that the multiverse has round planets)
I'm an abjurer, thank you very much! And you have to have seen the location you're targeting, so you'll have to dig through the entire section you've narrowed it down to to actually get the Scrying to apply to that area.

Please ignore my old homebrew, and for the love of every god out there don't use it.
I (used to, it's kinda dead now) participate in the Level 20 Gladiator Arena with a nameless hero (actually I think I deleted him, whoops).

You can try...
You'd better roll initiative. To see if you can dispel wards before I dispel your simulacrum. 14

well, I just send another.
and this one has a glyph of warding with an 8th level dispel magic stored in it, programmed to go off when the simulacrum is dispelled

The Teleportation Circle was closed. So no.

Anyway, Dispel Magic is a targeted spell, you can't just set it to go off and destroy stuff.

the 5 questions aren't going to get in on the exact location, but they can narrow it down by a massive amount. scrying does the rest.

so I'd say that I know a rough estimate of where your base is. time to put that 28 charisma to work in creating an army to "kill the necromancer"

so it's underground?
and I know you're an abjurer in subclass, but what else do you call someone leading an undead horde but a necromancer?

I specialise in abjuration though. Anyway, who's to say that I don't just pack up shop and move again? Though I don't. But I could.
No but...
I had to dispute this.
