Cool! What's the concept?
Not long ago, there was a prison flotilla (group of ships) that was used to keep prisoners away from society. However, they had a little open secret: they weren't just a group of prison ships. They were a gladiatorial fight ring for the rich to witness death row criminals butcher each other for their entertainment.
Mortimer was a criminal who was placed in the fight rings. He had never fought before. He was an occultist, not a combatant. But fortunately, before he was sent to fight, the ship was attacked by an unknown force, leaving the entire crew and all the guests dead. Mortimer was the only survivor, since he was still in his cell at the time. When he got out, he took over the flotilla, incorporating the bodies of the crew and guests into the trawler/kitchen ship, animating them and turning the ship into an amphibious undead tank.
He also dressed up in the warden/ringmaster's clothes and ransacked his office before scuttling most of the flotilla. He now goes around with his crude stolen identity, still wearing his broken shackles. He also drinks the old warden's cursed coffee to keep himself alive beyond death.
