Anyone else have that ONE person who ruins your day and makes you feel like [GP] for no reason? I have to deal with that person every day and it always leaves me really dysphoric and pissed off. It’s getting really old and I am really close to just losing it.
If you know who I’m talking about please don’t say it.
My players hated my latest session. I didn't explain the mechanics of the boss to them and just implied them, hoping they'd feel smart when they figured it out themselves.
Boss seems invincible. "Oh no," shouts the boss's caretaker, "Don't let them break your mirror! It can only protect you if you protect it!" Players ignore this and keep whaling on the boss, not making called shots (which I asked them about whenever they made an attack and didn't penalize them for previously) against the literally glowing weak points. I literally have to very directly tell them that their characters notice weak points in the monster. They still didn't attack them, except for one who broke the aforementioned mirror
Boss uses its ultimate, one-time-use move, which is casting Synaptic Static (which deals the same amount of damage as Fireball) centered on itself. All players, even the ones not affected, were upset, and one chewed me out for minutes on end about how I was being unfair.
I admit I was being unfair, but it wasn't for the sake of beating up on the players. I thought it would be fun to set them up with a tough fight like I often do, but evidently changing up the mechanics made it too hard. While I am frustrated, I will learn from this mistake.

I won't say who, don't worry. I also have that person, but not one person about three. My mom, stepfather and brother. The most bigoted people in my life and I can't even keep away from them because we live in the same house. Just remember, it will get better one day. We love you Nikki

Oof, I'm sorry to hear about that.
I don't really have that one person, unless myself counts as an option.

I had to remind my players every 5 minutes to actually interact with the setting instead of just leaving and killing everything. Hard to do when you were running a heist campaign

Damn, I feel you, I’ve gone out of my way for a person, they wanted their backstory to give them two special guns, I allowed it. Next they was a Warforged which doesn’t really fit with the campaign theme but I allowed it. Then he started complaining when I said he takes 1d4 bleeding damage like everybody else for some realism and when he tried replicate magic item on a fake he got mad and said I can’t keep nullifying his abilities even though it was a fake.

I had to get that out of my system. I’ve been holding myself back from punching a hole in my wall for 45 minutes.

A divination wizard thats convinced they’re stuck in a time loop because they know everything that’s going to happen.
That sounds like an amazing NPC idea.
