Reworked Mr. Black again and now he's capable of brutally murdering people with a random stick he found. Spheres of Might grants the Barroom martial sphere, which is basically if you based your fighting style around drinking and improvised weapons. I took the non-alcoholic variant, even though it would absolutely fit Mr. Black, and instead got an ability that allows me to treat improvised weapons like WMDs. I mixed this with the Fencing sphere to give myself the hilarious ability to use the Help action on an ally's attack... then immediately take it back and help myself. I can do this as a bonus action.

No, but it does replace proficiency with martial weapons, medium and heavy armor, and shields, then forces you to focus on a mental stat. You can sacrifice abilities to gain back part of those proficiencies, but not all of them.
