My first exposure to wendigos was via the show Grimm. The episodes plot was that Hank had arrested a guy for murder years ago. The basic plot was that a cop had arrested a guy for murder years ago that was now due to be executed. At the time Hank arrested the guy he didn't know mythical creatures were among society so he'd thought it was a try for an insanity plea when the man had said the person he shot turned into a monster. And at the start of the episode it's like, "Oh wait. That might really have been a wendigo! We need to see if we can exonerate this man by proving he was acting in self defense."
They are pretty interesting. Skinwalkers too. Particularly since, while I'm no expert on them, they both come about via a person giving into evil. (Cannibalism. Dark witchery.) So kind of give some inspiration when thinking of possible magic systems.

Just things I think about for possible stories someday maybe.
Given some cursory thought to a fantasy setting where the gods are created via belief. Partially local beliefs (so perhaps enough people have prayers towards the sea, it gets a divine presence) and the idea of what would be fundamental beliefs transcending things. (Not exactly original, but it's a different way of thinking. And semi-inspired by ancient pagans that were like, "Yeah your gods are real too. But those are for your peoples and we've got our own.)
I also like thinking about a video I saw where a priest discussed the question of whether or not Harry Potter was sinning by using magic. (Short answer: In the world of Harry Potter the magic wizards are using is a natural talent so it's fine.) Also inspires ideas for another world in my head and differentiating magic users from those using natural talents vs those that make deals with demons/etc for power.
About the natural talents and demon pact stuff, there’s a concept for a webcomic this YouTuber made about a world with a bunch of naturally born wizards, all with fun unique powers, and the main villains are like 16th century Salem with hunters in an organization called the Jury, which has convinced the masses that those people with magic are bad and evil and stuff, and so they perform dark rituals in order to give themselves powers to help them catch them. It’s fun.
I’m watching a theory about Atla detailing how the ‘my cabbages,’ guy is a spy for the fire nation, is a water bender, and is the reason omashu was captured, and also they might be part of the red Lotus?

I have a few Playlist as well, and this one is my attempt to tell a story of man who has given up on life, people and all that is good to live as he wants.
The Playlist begins with man who realizing he feels like a monster and accepting blasphemy, contrasting all that he was taught and feeling those real feelings inside. But he begins to realize that those feelings are a showing of sickness inside of, and falling into darkness. He begins to hate it, and therefore himself. He calls out for someone to save him, but when no one comes in the time he wants, he begins to feel indignant again, letting his hatred of himself morph into a deceiving pride. He then builds an empire on the grounds of his defeated enemies, mocking all who refused to help or love him.
But it only lasts so long, he realizes his empire of bones is just that, bones. Amongst the bones, he finds the ones of a man he killed, of a selfless, sinless, perfect man who tried to help him, and was not afraid to die trying. The man feels overwhelming guilt and shame that is actions have brought, and cries out to the man he slew, begging for forgiveness. Then, he feels it. He finds it. Forgiveness. Love. The man, rises from death, symbolizing the overcoming the man's wrong actions for him, because he couldn't alone. This perfect man shows him a love he has never felt before, and struggles with feeling like he is worthy. And then, in the attempt to hold onto his pride, he says be is more than worthy, and that this should have come long ago, he says that he gave everthing for healing like this, and is has come late. For a brief moment, he doubts, saying he gave everything for this man's kind of healing. He is answered, by the realization, that the man DIED for him. He gave up all he had to heal this broken protagonist. When the protagonist realizes this, he understands now that he should have been the one to die for his wrongs, but the man did for him when he was innocent. He feels the burden of shame again, and accepts it now, letting himself soak in glory of this realization.
He does stay in shame, as that is not where the end lies. He gets up and fights to have a better life, to be found worthy of this forgiveness in a new way. But the sinless man stops him, asking him why he feels this need. He points out how it is still pride, and if he follows it, he will be worn out trying to accomplish the impossible. He wasn't worthy, he never will be. The man did something as an act of mercy and love. If this protagonist was try and prove himself worthy, even by good deeds, he would be negating the man's sacrifice and love.
After all of that, he is ready, he rises up from the ashes of defeat, and lives his life not in the power of himself, as it was never enough and lead to death. No now he lives in the power of the love the man gave him, imbued with strength and now inspired (instead of forced) to live a good life, and he thanks the selfless man for everthing. The man lives life now as a warrior of goodness, seeking to bring this mercy he was given to all he meets. To share the goodness of this reality.
I always find it not ideal to do things like tell storys through playlists, albums tell stories, and the songs all being by the same artist makes it really feel like one story, so I would suggest making music yourself, always feel out of place when taken from albums that have their own story lines
I see what you are saying. I agree honestly, but I felt a common thread between them and a story popped in my head listening to each one. I want to be able to create my own music but I have tools to do so or even the resources to find them. The way my life has gone so far is my options are pretty limited and I have to settle with the simplicity of a monotonous life, so I try to get creative...I agree that taking songs out of context is strange and rarely works. I made this because it meant something to me lol. One day, I will have more options and will try to make an album of my own 😁
