Sky High wallops the Faxman in the face with a spear, prompting me to realize I pasted in the battlefield from 5 rounds ago and fix that. they then do 9 attack damage! Leader is meditating. The Darkness Given Form is training. it goes... alright. not great. very anticlimactic in the face of death. But then, that's realism for you. The Faxman groans, regenerating 5 HP as it struggles to continue in its eternal devotion to its task. Messenger of the Infinite gains 30 HP and 20-wait-no-it's-only-15-20-is-after-this-round-order-of-operations-friendo attack and strikes the Darkness given Form full on the face, killing it. A notification emerges in front of the Darkness Given Soul and then the Darkness Given Form respawns. The Godmodder questions why it's so durable, and I remind him it ate a player. well, sort of. the player in question was a willing party, and it was more of a spiritual absorption/possession thing. ate a player is punchier, though. Leader, in his meditation, senses something. It is like blood in every way, save that it is both energy and liquid at once. It is threaded through the whole of the past, and ever more densely in the future. It is something that can never be whole again and should have never been. It is the bloodthirsty scream of a beast. it is a mass of bloodied scraps that has found a mockery of life. it is a shambling and eyeless thing,with a gnarled and toothless black maw which could spread wide enough to swallow the sky and never be filled, and with a dozen spindly and yet threadlike arms ending in wicked claws, one embedded deeply yet painlessly in the Leaders chest. It is flanked by a blackened void and a brilliant star, both equal in size and grandeur. It is all these things and more, but more importantly, in some way Leader isn't... It Is. The shambling thing hears Leader's heartbeat and turns to regard him. The maw widens in something half-resembling a smile, then further, a grotesque mockery of a face. Such is the force of that maw that the vision shudders, and begins to end. they have perhaps a moment to react before it does so; what, if anything, do they do?

Sky High attacks The Faxman, dealing 5 damage and 8 attack damage! The Darkness Given Form, coward that it is, attacks the Faxman. And, Habitual as it is, turns it into training. The Faxman takes 15 attack damage, and the Darkness Given Form gains 30 HP and 2 attack! The Faxman regens 5 HP and stops being AG. The 10 hostile demons attack uuuuuhhh sky high and do 0 damage. Messenger attacks the faithful Dog. 132 damage! it doesn't bleed out or anything, owing to being made of solid diamonds, but it looks pretty dead. TheSaxman is playing the Sax. Lord English helpfully adds a space, turning it into the S Ax, as in the S-tier Ax, also known as Axe. TheSaxman swings the S Ax at leader, dealing 30 damage! for chargequest purposes, this happens after he is shaken out of meditation. Lord English then replaces the Space. The SA-X attacks with the charge shot, dealing a heightened 30 damage to Sky High! They continue to bypass Damage Resistance with their Plasma Beam, or maybe the Wave Beam, one of the two probably. Lord English attaches the word Attack from his reserves to the Infective part of the SA-X's statline, granting it Infective Attack! He then decides Lord is too petty a title for his glorious self, renaming himself to Sovereign English and putting Lord in his collection. This doesn't seem to affect Sovereign English's statline in the slightest.
The Godmodder puts another point into self-actualisation.

So you conjure the strings with magic. But what sort of strings?
Unfortunately, this river does not have any gemstones in it. You execute a Core Dump! unfortunately, y'know the thing at the start of at least some core dumps where it lists copyright and warrenties and stuff? the Godmodder has configured it to be, oh, hundreds of pages long, at least-full of explanations about why you should join him, naturally. and about 1% of the variable names are variations of the same thing, so if you pick a spot at random you'll not know if you're into the code yet! it's very user unfriendly.
You attempt to remove the Faxmans devotion. In computer terms, however... say you're wiping something from the hard disk. you wipe a part of it, time is passing because the wipe isn't instant, you wipe more of it, the parts you haven't wiped yet refill the space behind the wipe, you wipe more, some of it is safe and refills after you from there. Devotion slightly reduced, but it's mostly still there.
Lastly, you unfortunately neglected to acknowledge the Saxman. your progress is taxed by 0.2 for both charges, and the Saxman does a little jig. As it turns out, he should have taxed you last round too, but the Saxman had forgotten he still had his Taxman responsibilities.

Silk does indeed exist! gain Agility or 0.12 charge progress. You refactor the code! The program is much shorter now, and you can see the actual code, but it's also, uh... fairly incomprehensible. without the variablenames, it's hard to know where to start or what anything is, so while you know that for instance HxD19A is currently set to 0 with PkwO7q as an array holding FALSE, FALSE, FALSE, TRUE, FALSE and several more FALSEs, but you don't know what any of that's about. You successfully avoid taxes like a yoshi.

Whether he wears shoes or not, it slices into his feet. ahead he sees great spires of black, bent by gravity, the land a mix of this obsidian floor and pulsing flesh. Strangely, to him, it feels... almost like some sort of home. Does he walk on? And do you? Due to the nature of this sidequest, snowballing is only divided by 4 instead of 5-10. Attack, and actions spent to advance, are unaffected.

Messenger attacks the Darkness Given Form, which swiftly moves in response to shatter the liminal boundary between this world and the not, Soul blazing with light that same shade as before as it reveals the firmament that buttresses and lays beneath the real, splinters racing out and red steam blasting between them as it takes 30.7 damage (rounded up), though the blue-blazing star of a piece of its soul gutters out in the aftermath and is left a hollow thing. Leader, in his meditation, senses something. It is like blood in every way, save that it is both energy and liquid at once. It is threaded through the whole of the past, and ever more densely in the future. It is something that can never be whole again and should have never been. It is the bloodthirsty scream of a beast. it is a mass of bloodied scraps that has found a mockery of life. it is a shambling and eyeless thing,with a gnarled and toothless black maw which could spread wide enough to swallow the sky and never be filled, and with a dozen spindly and yet threadlike arms ending in wicked claws, one embedded deeply yet painlessly in the Leaders chest. It is flanked by a blackened void and a brilliant star, both equal in size and grandeur. It is all these things and more, but more importantly, in some way Leader isn't... It Is.
The shambling thing hears Leader's heartbeat and turns to regard him. The maw widens in something half-resembling a smile, then further, a grotesque mockery of a face. Such is the force of that maw that the vision shudders, and begins to end. they have perhaps a moment to react before it does so; what, if anything, do they do?

The Darkness Given Form, coward that it is, attacks the Faxman. And, Habitual as it is, turns it into training. The Faxman takes 15 attack damage, and the Darkness Given Form gains 30 HP and 2 attack!
The Faxman regens 5 HP and stops being AG.
The 10 hostile demons attack uuuuuhhh sky high and do 0 damage.
Messenger attacks the faithful Dog. 132 damage! it doesn't bleed out or anything, owing to being made of solid diamonds, but it looks pretty dead.
TheSaxman is playing the Sax. Lord English helpfully adds a space, turning it into the S Ax, as in the S-tier Ax, also known as Axe. TheSaxman swings the S Ax at leader, dealing 30 damage! for chargequest purposes, this happens after he is shaken out of meditation. Lord English then replaces the Space.
The SA-X attacks with the charge shot, dealing a heightened 30 damage to Sky High! They continue to bypass Damage Resistance with their Plasma Beam, or maybe the Wave Beam, one of the two probably.
Lord English attaches the word Attack from his reserves to the Infective part of the SA-X's statline, granting it Infective Attack! He then decides Lord is too petty a title for his glorious self, renaming himself to Sovereign English and putting Lord in his collection. This doesn't seem to affect Sovereign English's statline in the slightest.
The Godmodder puts another point into self-actualisation.

I get my strings from the Manipulation Staff carefully and sewn them using a crafting table.
I also do some experiment on augmenting existing items. What could go wrong? I collect a small gemstone from the river. I also collect fragments of the server by executing a core dump. By analysing my code for the Basic Manipulation Staff and modifying variable types, I can optimize the Staff.
Since my Staff was being optimized, I am using my ring to perform the attacks. I revise the permission on the Faxman and sees his low HP and strong devotion. Permission to devote is /click/ deleted. I try to put the Faxman in at least daze before letting the other player target him.
I Attack the god mother with the one hit obliterater (botw but the opposite of the health draw backs) while wearing invincible armor.

So you conjure the strings with magic. But what sort of strings?
Unfortunately, this river does not have any gemstones in it. You execute a Core Dump! unfortunately, y'know the thing at the start of at least some core dumps where it lists copyright and warrenties and stuff? the Godmodder has configured it to be, oh, hundreds of pages long, at least-full of explanations about why you should join him, naturally. and about 1% of the variable names are variations of the same thing, so if you pick a spot at random you'll not know if you're into the code yet! it's very user unfriendly.
You attempt to remove the Faxmans devotion. In computer terms, however... say you're wiping something from the hard disk. you wipe a part of it, time is passing because the wipe isn't instant, you wipe more of it, the parts you haven't wiped yet refill the space behind the wipe, you wipe more, some of it is safe and refills after you from there. Devotion slightly reduced, but it's mostly still there.
Lastly, you unfortunately neglected to acknowledge the Saxman. your progress is taxed by 0.2 for both charges, and the Saxman does a little jig. As it turns out, he should have taxed you last round too, but the Saxman had forgotten he still had his Taxman responsibilities.
The armor is invincible, but you aren't, and the god mother is still very high in temperature from all the microwaves, burning you alive!
You've also been targeting the wrong being; this game is confront the Godmodder, not confront the Godmother. unless that's intentional?

Inventor does as said. Say. these are paper wings; how is he going to flap them well enough for flight? or are they not for flight, just aesthetic?
The shambling thing sees Leader beginning to turn incorporeal. with a sickening crack, it wrenches its head to point skyward, and in a voice like gargled barbed wire, laughs, long and cruel and hard and hungry and yet lasting but a fraction of a moment. Then, it sucks in a breath, and such is the force of the pressure into that illimitable maw that it pulls not just air, but the very substance of this vision inwards, the abstract representation of space cracking, pieces of the vision falling inwards. And Leader is caught in that whirlwind of inwards force as well, not pulled in, but his ascent is halted. He does not escape it, and is jarred out of his meditation, though he gains an action from completing the charge.

The Faithful Dog gets removed from the battlefield listing due to excessive death. The etrahedral one leaks cyan smoke.
Faxman attacks Messenger of the Infinite for 20 damage! The 10 demons love murder and join in, dealing 2 damage! Messenger retaliates by killing the Faxman until it is completely dead, dealing 5 damage, 5 regen damage, and 20 attack damage! The Saxman plays a mournful Sax at Sky High, making them... not depressed, but like, slightly low mood? it's a debuff, -20 attack damage until it wears off!
The SA-X attacks with a charge shot, dealing another 30 damage to Sky High! unfortunately for it, the plasma of the charge shot burns the infective payload it carries.
Sovereign English retrieves regen, man and of from the corpse of the recently deceased Fax! He then combines Lord, of and Regen to create the Lord of Regen! being the lord of Regen, he has very little health, but that could change quickly... The Saxman decides to help with this gap with the 0.4 charges it taxed this round, granting the Lord of Regen a base health of 9!

I weave silk of the Englishman into a fabric. A fine fabric could be much of a help.
Since finding a gemstone is hard in a river, I do a little mining trip and get myself coal instead. Conjuring heat and pressure, I reform that into a diamond!
I also write a small program to filter out the garbage. 1: any and all lines starting with whatever thing the Godmodder choose to say are all commented (as in //), else the whole simulation will not run! I use that to my advantage, and all commented lines are automatically filtered out. I will not believe it had written constructive comments tho, so filtering all of that will not be an issue for me! 2: I also do a refactor of the code and add my comments to it, which clears recursive code, strange varnames and is probably more useful than what the Godmodder has written anyways.
And I automatedly wave to the Saxman to acknowledge it's taxing duties. Completed.
