I walk through the mist as far as I can go. If there just so happens to be a stone pedestal, I take the amulet off and place it in the indention I assume exists in the assumed pedestal.
You walk to the end of the corridor. As you do so, a bad taste fills your mouth from the mist, but it doesn't seem to otherwise affect you. at the end of the corridor, the mist abruptly ends, and there is indeed a stone pedestal. You also notice that the back wall has a single, small flame burning in one of seven indentations.
You take the zombie pendant off, and place it on the pedestal. The crystal once again rises out of it as you do so, and the far right hollow in both the door (for those outside) and the wall behind you (for you) is lit up by a small flame.
I take the crystal and walk back to the main hallway.
You pick up the crystal and start walking into the green fog. Please make me a Constitution save!
“DID YOU YOU SEE THEM WALK THROUGH THE LAVA!!! ILL BE FIRE PROOF!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA”
Oh dear. Jerry with fiery explosives and no danger from said fiery explosives = Jerry using way too much fiery explosives. Oh wait... that already happens. Good thing I have tiefling fire resistance!
I am immune to poison, just as a reminder. I don't know if this is poison or not, though....
Ah, I hadn't realised that yuan-ti were immune to poison!
in that case, you taste a bitterness in the back of your throat but otherwise are unharmed as you return to the main room. You see that the door now has the rightmost and leftmost fires lit in the hollows.

Sweet. I go back to the pedestal and continue the process of putting the crystal in the amulets, putting the amulets on, and using the different abilities of what I become to put each amulet in its respective pedestal. I do it in this order: spider, ooze, giant, mouse, fish (going along the main hallway).
For the spider one, I am still under the effects of a fly spell, so I just fly back down once I put the amulet in the pedestal. For the ooze one, I misty step from behind the bars back to the main hallway. For the giant one, I don't close the door, so unless it automatically closes behind me, I would think I could just walk back out. For the mouse one, I misty step if I have to. For the fish one... I cast water breathing on myself and swim, however slowly, back to the main corridor. Athletics for the swimming just in case: 11

For all that I'm tempted to just say "the giant door closes behind you", you know what? Well played.
When you put the last amulet in place, the crystal flickers and the light fades. Out in the corridor, the door opens into the next room.
(anyone else want to pick up DMing, if not I'll need to think of something new!)

Thank you very much. (And this was a good room. Thanks for running it.)
I jump in the lava twice. I now (I assume) have one life.
I grab the crystal “MENDIGO! You should see a iron golem amulet down that corridor, go grab it for me, then put this crystal in it and walk back!” He uses the rope the first time. If the door is no longer openable when I take the amulet Jerry says “everyone get out of the room! DO ANY OF THE WIZARDS HAVE ANY KIND OF TELEPORTATION MAGIC! I’ll need you to stay behind to get us out of here. Also, if there’s like a “return object spell” that would work too have Mendigo carry to the amulet cast it on it and we can leave THEN get the amulet!”
sorry for the GIANT block of text, this was the extent of the master plan for Jerry’s amulet retrieval.
There isn't a return object spell, and I'm not high enough level to cast teleport. And there'd be a chance that the teleport spell wouldn't succeed anyway. I think. But... try it. You might as well. I have a plan.

“Plan?!?!? Tell me now or the whole room goes up in flame!”
Don't worry. The plan is simply for getting all of us and the amulet to the next room. Nothing more. If you want, Harmony could possibly cast zone of truth and I'll repeat what I just said.

... I don't think the crystal works any more...
Insight to determine if the crystal works: 5
Arcana to determine if the crystal works: 12
(I don't know if these are even necessary, or which one it would be, but I tried to simplify things by making the checks ahead of time.)
