Since the other thread doesn’t seem to last long (and I feel weird taking it over) I am instead creating a reboot. If anyone wants to take the reigns on this, or you think for any reason that I’m not doing a good job, please feel free to say so.
Please post a maximum of 5 times between my reactions, I will check this thread as often as possible.
If you would like to make a character sheet for this, First, I’m honoured that you take this that seriously. Second, you are level one, and you have no memories other than the knowledge of your proficiencies. Lastly, I will need a summary of your sheet so that I know what you can do. If you just don’t care enough to make a character sheet, cool, I don’t care, and neither does anyone else.
Last house rule: have fun. Yeet, I do want you to have fun but it is not a requirement. I am totally cool with you guys just trying to mess with me. No, the last rule is, what I say goes. If I tell you that the fire elemental has gotten bigger due to the fact that you cast fireball at it, it got bigger. If I say that you can’t do something, I will likely give you some sciencey sounding reason that’s really just a bunch of fluff that’s me saying, you can’t do that. But seriously, overall this is just another game. Have a murder frenzy.
Edit: This was what we were, but now, we pass the mantle to those with ideas, those who wish to learn, the next generation of DMs. Every once in a while, the current DM will step down, and the next will rise to take their place. Let the games begin.
You find that you are in a room with a ceiling so incredibly high, you aren’t even sure that there is one. The light of the torch doesn’t reach the walls, and the floor is a cold obsidian. You get the feeling that something is watching you from just outside the darkness, a cold fear that is just waiting for the light to burn out, the last thing between you, and it.
Fire in one hand and steel in the other, you muster the courage to move onward, onward into the darkness... OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT?! You take 5 piercing damage and 2 fire damage from a flaming arrow hitting you in the head from out of nowhere.
Can I drop in? If so I will ready my bow and shoot upward to see how far it goes, oh! I will light it on fire first!
New people are always welcome because new people means that i am doing something right (YAY!).
Panic from awaking alone with nothing but the dark and the cold floor for company must be what has driven you to think that lighting an arrow on fire and shooting it into the air was a good idea. You watch as the small light from the arrow soars in an arc and lands near another flickering light that appears to be a torch. You realize your mistake as you hear a cry of pain.
I turn to plopped. "Why did no one trust the low DEX wizard?", I ask. "Because he cantrip at any step.", as I cast Tasha’s Hideous Laughter at them. Then I continue my slow approach into the darkness.
As you leave the rando that shot you with a bad case of the giggles, you continue onward, marching towards what you hope is an exit.
Eventually, as your first torch is beginning to burn out, you come to four doors, each with a gold inscription in very eloquent writing above it.
Above the first reads: Room of Ice
Above the second reads: Room of Storms
Above the third reads: Room of Escapes
Above the fourth and final door reads: Room of No Return
A sign to your right reads in faded letters:
“One of Death, One of Skies, One of Escape, One of Lies
One buries you, six feet underground,
One leaves you, high, wet, and with nothing around,
One moves you forward, One behind,
Choose your door wisely, lest you find,
Your final fate, to which you bind.”
Please note that I have just come up with this, so this is a very low quality, on the fly, type puzzle. If you hate it, alert me and I will look for one on the internet or something instead. If not, YAY! I will plan ahead in the future.
After leaving a trail of mini-fires, you come to an abyss. An abyss so deep, the light from your torch wavers feebly from the sheer drop. The canyon has the sick scent of death floating up from it. The big smelly crack doesn't appear to have another side. After lingering on the edge for a little bit, you hear faint whispers and giggles of a child, as though hearing it with water in your ears. You slowly rotate (As one does in this kind of situation) and see that the little fires that you have lit (to find your way back?) have turned various shades of purple and blue and started floating and moving of their own accord. You recognize this occurrence as Will-o-Wisps and count about ten evil fires. As you are counting the angry candles, one tries to launch itself at you,but you narrowly dodge it and are left unharmed (apart from a couple singed hairs) as it spirals towards the crack and by some strange intervention, explodes.
He is on the other side of the room. you faintly see a figure running around, screaming for dear life, being chased by balls of multi-coloured fire. You are mildly amused. Do you want to help?
You... dig? Do you know where you are? The floor is obsidian! Do you have any special thing in your sheet that says you can drill through obsidian? You claw hopelessly at the floor, breaking your fingernails. After Three solid minutes of you tearing at the ground, you get hit with a flaming arrow.
Ahhh! Sorry for the late response! But... I will try to... shoot at them. Do willow-wisps have immunity to non magic damage?
First things first, is it Willow-Wisps or Will-o-Wisps? Second, they have resistance, not immunity. Last, I think it hilarious that you are still using a bow after what happened last time and fate would have it that you are fighting evil fires. You loose an arrow and it flies gracefully through the air, straight towards it's target and attaching to it. The now-flaming arrow soars in a graceful arc and hits some rando tryna claw the floor open.
Thank you guys for this, I am enjoying myself immensely.

Cool, after I stop rolling around on the ground I will walk in the other direction. Oh, and light a torch.
edit: I will leave a trail of small fires, using some tinder, cloth and oil.

I try to dig out

MilestoGo_24, Bubbub25 and SpeedyTabaxi_CatsForLife may or may not be my friends. Cynophobia almost definitely is.

Here, have a thing I made.

So the arrow goes through the wisp? And hits the dude clawing at the floor? And it’s on fire?
