An unnatural wind continues to swirl around Fort Venture and howls through the Brokenveil Bluffs as the party huddles below the western wall. Ula has just slipped up to the center of the wall and secured a rope to one of the spiked timbers. An ill timed clank of metal parts in Ula's sack alerted guards at watch towers north and south of Ula's location. The guards shout through the storm and start loading their crossbows. Onizos conjures an inky black wall, obscuring the vision of the southernmost guard. He moves up and joins Ula at the wall.
Yabo is up! You asked about using a grappling hook to pull down a guard. To accomplish that you will need to hit on a thrown attack (Range 20/60, no damage, no proficiency) to snag the guard. After snagging the guard, you can use a bonus action to make a contested Athletics check to pull them towards you.
Anyone attempting to scale the wall will need to make a DC 12 Athletics or Acrobatic check with a chance of damage from the spikes on failure.
The guard looks up from his crossbow just in time to see the metal hook flying towards him. He ducks to avoid it and the hook clatters to the floor of the tower. As you pull, it gains purchase on the timbers.
Anyone can now use its rope to scale the tower with the same check as the wall. Yabo you can use the 18 you already rolled if you choose.
Stuvrak attempts to follow Yabo up to the tower (Athletics: 10). He gets most of the way up, but being overly cautious of the spikes his hand slips on the rope and he tumbles back to the ground. He dusts himself off, slightly embarrassed and moves up against the wall. For his action, he will Help the next person to try to scale by boosting them over and granting advantage on their check.
The Southern Guard takes a wild shot through Onizos screen. It misses badly and clangs off a rock behind the party. When he looks around and realized the rest of the garrison couldn't hear their shouts over the storm, he drops his crossbow and starts running towards the center of the fort.
Ula from your position flying above the wall, you can see the Southern Guard running for help and the Northern Guard squaring up against Yabo. What do you do?
Ula will let the southern guard go for now and fly up toward Yabo, pulling out a small metal plate on the way and tapping it with another trinket. "Come on, come on!!!" She'll fly right up towards the guard, but just out of their reach and then pull out the metal plate, covered with her hand for the moment, and scream at him. "Hey ugly! Over here!" When they look she will show the metal plate which is now shining brightly in the darkness, hoping to temporarily blind him with the bright light.
The Northern guard, already startled by Yabo's arrival, is further confused and distracted by the sudden bright light flying around him (disadvantage on next interaction)
Gan smiles as all hell starts to break loose. He can’t see what’s going on behind the wall so he races to the rope Yabo has secured, uses Stuvrak as a furry stepping stone and races up to the north tower as quickly as he can.
The guard howls and drops his crossbow as your blade draws a bloody line across his legs. He draws a spear from his back and holds it out in front of himself desperate to fend off the attack. He squints through Ula's glaring light and thrusts the spear at Yabo.
To Hit (with disadvantage): 12
The spear thuds harmlessly against your tortle shell shield.
With the others crowding the northern tower Morgid attempts to clear the wall at Ula's original rope. (Athletics: 7) His footing slips and he slides back down the rope. He screams in anger, picks up a nearby rock and jams it in between the timbers to serve as a foothold for his next attempt.
Your claws rip flesh from between the guards armor. He looks very bloodied, but holds himself up against the palisade.
Stuvrak moves to Morgid's rope and used the stone foot step (Athletics with adv: 25). He uses Dash and is just barely able to close within 5 feet of the southern guard.
The guard senses the large bugbear charging and sidesteps to avoid him (Disengage) and continues running towards the large tent south of the keep.

Rather than yank the guard down, Yabo hauls himself up, pushing his way into the tower, trying to leave room for others to join.

Scrambling up on to the tower, Gan looks around to get a feel for the situation.
”This ain’t the ideal sneakiness I was strategizing for but we’re in.
He darts forward, and around to the side of Yabo, shield in one hand and short sword in the other.
Gan hacks at the guard’s thigh.

Onizos is up!
Onizos will slap Morgid on the butt as he squeezes in front of him and uses the makeshift foothold for himself, and quickly scales the wall.
Athletics 13
Hopping down on the other side, can he spot the southern guard somewhere?
Like doesn’t he have to climb down from his sentry spot first?
Onizos wants to try some different things depending on where this Southern guard is and whether Onizos is immediately visible to him or not.
The Southern Guard is 15ft east of his watchtower. They are currently running in the other direction, but would be able to see you at the wall.
Here's an updated map:
Hmm, seems like tricks won’t work, so it’s back to plan A.
Onizos casts hex and eldritch blast at the fleeing guard.
Disadvantage to strength checks
19 to hit
6 force damage plus 3 necrotic damage
Onizos will give chase with whatever movement he has left.
Your eldritch blast tentacles lash across the fleeing guards back and do significant damage. He looks to just barely be able to keep moving.
Yabo, you're up! The northern guard is hurt but still in the fight, sweeping his spear back and forth in front of you.
Yabo slashes at the guard with his claws.
