Name: Mathieu Chaz Race: Human Class: Bard Background: Sage Brief backstory: Mathieu is travelling through Liam's Hold while searching for an answer to the question: what is his purpose in life. Brief backstory Business aint boomin for Pom. She own a medicine shop which would normally be making decent coin but she accidentally gave an important noble the wrong salve for his skin condition which left him as he put it "a disfigured and abhorrent individual". He took it personally, pulled some strings and ruined Pom's business. After struggling for a while she happened upon a devil, speak, the devil came to her when he heard her rambling about "doin anything for getting her life back" when she was drunk. Not quite clear in the head she accepted a deal. That had concequences though. While money was earned so was distrust. The deal also includes persuing some not so kind goals such as creating various substances that are, simply put, on the evil side of the spectrum. Pom is currently looking for a way of paying her way out of the deal.
Name: Eudith de la Lune Race: Human Class: Paladin Background: Knight of the Order
Brief Backstory: Eudith is a holy warrior in service of Selune associated with the House of the Moon, a temple in the Sea Ward of Waterdeep. Raised by the temple priests and priestesses after having been left there as a child, she developed divine and martial talents as she grew. In addition to being able to perform minor miracles of healing, she has been blessed with the unique ability to manifest a field of moonlight in the appearance of silvery plate, which she wears in place of physical armor. She is in a knight errant phase of her training, and has come to the famed Black Ford Adventuring Guild in search of a cause, and perhaps a person, to serve with devotion.
Appearance: Eudith is a pale-skinned human with silvery irises and mid-length platinum blonde hair. In addition to her armor, she wears a crescent moon amulet in devotion to Selune.
Background: Feylost (The pitch is that while not born fairy, he got lost in the fey wild as child and lived there for longer than his memory serves. The fey wild magic turned him into the fairy that he is now.)
Brief Backstory:
The Misty Forest has long since been a gateway for Fey to enter the Material Plane and Berry had always been itching for a longer visit. One day, a horse carriage, probably having taken a wrong turn somewhere, passed close to the gateway where Berry just so happened to brawl with a badger. Just for fun, mind you, he would not harm the poor creature. Anyway, in a snap decision, he decided time has come to explore a new world and he hitched a hike to wherever that carriage would go. Certainly some place exciting. Hours later they arrived to Liam's Hold.
Name: Hisashi Race: Kobold Class: Monk Background: Far Traveler Brief Backstory: Hisashi, a quiet yet strong willed Kobold, grew up primarily in a vast tunnel system excavated by his tribal ancestors. She was always seen as peculiar in that unlike her kin, she rather focus on her martial training over the daily tasks that made things tick and she certainly didn't like to dig. The tribe was a small grouping of Kobolds, but one that was industrious as they dug for gemstones and foraged for mushrooms of all sorts for trade, while staying out of the radar from larger more dangerous beings whenever possible. Hisashi is the third daughter of the tribal shaman who also functioned as a primary protector for her people and taught Hisashi her martial skills which have been past down for several generations. Her mother, like many of the adults went on her "Sun Walk" a pilgrimage above ground to gain knowledge and experience outside of their own in hopes of benefitting the tribe. It was now time for Hisashi to take her own Sun Walk with only the knowledge her tribe has given her and a few roughly drawn and likely dated maps to aid her quest in self discovery. Only a few weeks had gone by when the tiny monk stumbled upon Liam's hold and her first adventurer's guild....
Backstory: Growing up in Baldur’s Gate, young Lester never had much of a work ethic. He always preferred to take what he wanted rather than working for it. He was always small for his age but he was quite quick, physically as well as mentally. He grew up to be a weak and sickly man but one of remarkable intelligence. Over the course of many years he used his wits to infiltrate merchant’s guilds, noble houses, even royal courts where he would manipulate events to his benefit. That is, until one day a stroke of bad luck resulted in a well respected lord walking in on Lester and the Lord’s daughter in a compromising situation. The Lord vowed to devote all his resources to catching and destroying Lester for his transgressions and so, having little choice, Lester ran. For months he managed to barely stay one step ahead of the Lord’s men. After many months he finally managed to give his pursuers the slip, escaped the city and made his way north to a small hamlet…
Background: Growing up in Baldur’s Gate was rough on Absinthe - whose parents abandoned her due to her birth as a Tiefling. She was passed around homes a lot and by the age of 14 had enough of being abandoned - choosing instead to live on the streets. Unlike most who took to crime, Absinthe took to building things, fixing things, and the alchemical. She found she loved it, and could usually be found fixing something or crafting a new potion happily while smoking a tobacco pipe. Even when things, sometimes literally, blew up in her face, she refused to let it get her down. Now, at nineteen she’s a fairly accomplished if not rather accident prone Artificer, making potions and the like for any who need it. When the call for adventuring came up, Absinthe thought to herself “Y’know, I could totally do that!” So she got her tobacco pipe and potions in her pack, and set off for what she hoped would be a new life of fun and helping others.
Appearance: A purple skinned Tiefling with purple eyes and one horn missing (The product of an accidental explosion! Oopsie!) she has dark hair and wears rather unkempt and ragged clothes - most with holes in them. The nicest thing she owns is a broach that she always wears, unless she’s working, that was given to her by a friend who she loved dearly. She’s usually seen smoking a pipe and any services she offers require a payment of tobacco or a new pipe.
Edit after discussion with another player: Absinthe and Pom are friends, who work together occasionally and have somewhat of a friendly rivalry.
Name: Dalnir Tharhak, son of Tharhak the Strong Race: Hill Dwarf Class: fighter (intending to go toward Champion)
Background: Soldier
Brief Backstory: Dalnir's life started in the mines. Like his father, he was known for his strength, able to crush most ore with a single swing of his hammer. His strength quickly came to the attention of the military commanders, who recruited him as soon as he was of age. Unlike his father, Dalnir was not interested in glory. He was a protector, and vowed to hold the lines of his tribes territory against any threats that may come. Over the years he fought many battles, including his legendary stand off with Kopska the Ogre. After 50 years of service to the defense of his home, he retired to a life of black smithing. He worked closely with the military defenses, armoring new recruits and bolstering the defense around the village. Life was good, until OgMar united various isolated tribes of Goblins under his rule. One night, these goblins overwhelmed the defense and burned Dalnirs village to the ground. Dalnir gathered the few he could and narrowly escaped, but he felt broken. He blamed himself. That is when he sent himself into exile, vowing to return to his homeland when he was stronger. Since then he has traveled lands far and wide in search of challenges that would put his strength, both of mind and body, to the test. He now finds himself in Liam's hold intrigued by a particular gilded notice on the job board. Eager to see if he will be able to join the quest, he sits in wait with an ale or two to hold him over.
