A valuable ship in the east has sunk for unknown reasons, and fishing towns are quickly dying. A message was just sent confirming the death of a powerful king in the north. What's happening is unknown, but one thing is clear: Something powerful has awoken, and no one knows what they're dealing with. Adenguard promises unspeakable wealth to whoever can slay this winter. Ealdred Swiftshadow's presence evokes the tranquility of the Eldertree's groves, yet beneath the calm exterior lies the resolve of a ranger whose destiny is intertwined with the mysteries of the encroaching darkness.
Character Background: Outlander
Detailed Backstory:
Ealdred Swiftshadow's early years were bathed in the dappled sunlight filtering through the ancient boughs of Eldertree Forest. Born to Eldrin and Lirael Swiftshadow, esteemed members of a reclusive Wood Elf tribe, Ealdred's upbringing was steeped in the traditions of his people. His parents, skilled rangers and custodians of the Eldertree, instilled in him a profound respect for nature's delicate balance.
Tragedy struck when Ealdred was just a century old. His family embarked on an expedition to investigate disturbances in the forest, only to encounter a mysterious, malevolent force. Despite their prowess, Eldrin and Lirael fell in battle, leaving Ealdred an orphan. The Eldertree, sensing the profound loss, seemed to embrace Ealdred in its protective aura, as if recognizing him as its ward.
Alone in the wilderness, Ealdred found solace and purpose among the trees. He befriended creatures of the forest, learning their ways and listening to the subtle whispers of the Eldertree itself. During his solitary explorations, he stumbled upon a hidden grove housing an ancient, magical tree. Drawing upon the mystical energies within, he crafted his bow, named Sylvan Whisper, which seemed to echo the voices of the Eldertree and imbued his arrows with an ethereal potency.
Haunted by the memory of his parents' fate, Ealdred Swiftshadow dedicated himself to becoming a Hunter Ranger. He embraced the teachings of the Eldertree, melding his innate elven abilities with the primal magic coursing through the forest. Ealdred's prowess with Sylvan Whisper grew, and he learned to channel the essence of nature, granting him the ability to navigate unseen through the woodlands.
As rumors of an encroaching darkness and the unnatural winter reached his ears, Ealdred felt an unshakable duty to protect the Eldertree and the lands beyond. His journey to Adenguard Castle was not merely a quest for revenge but a solemn commitment to safeguard the delicate balance of nature against the looming threat. In joining the band of adventurers, Ealdred Swiftshadow brings with him the legacy of his parents, the wisdom of the Eldertree, and the unyielding determination of a Wood Elf forged by loss and the call of the wild.
Example Post of what your character would be doing right now. Write this like how you would in the campaign.
Amidst the flickering torchlight in Adenguard Castle's common room, Ealdred Swiftshadow sits in a quiet corner, meticulously inspecting the fletching of his arrows. The ambient chatter of fellow adventurers and the faint aroma of mead linger in the air, but his focus remains unwavering.
His keen eyes, the color of the clear morning sky, periodically drift toward the window, where the dark clouds from the north cast an ominous shadow over the land. The rhythmic tapping of Sylvan Whisper, his enchanted bow, against the wooden table accompanies his contemplation.
With a furrowed brow, Ealdred ponders the secrets concealed within the Eldertree's whispers and the tragic memories of his parents' final expedition. The encroaching darkness looms, and he senses the urgency of his quest deepening.
As the room echoes with the laughter and camaraderie of the other adventurers, Ealdred Swiftshadow remains silent, a figure bound by purpose and driven by the call of the Eldertree, waiting for the moment when the band will embark on the journey into the unknown, where answers and challenges alike await in the wintry abyss.
Possessing the natural elfin beauty of the Eladrin, Anasfyra cuts a striking figure amongst those of non-elf heritage. Even amongst elven-kind, she is notably slender, which coupled with her height of 6'0", makes her seem willowy in appearance. Unlike some nobility, she appears lean and athletic, ready to spring into action if needed or desired. Her eyes are generally are bright, emerald green, and seem to shimmer in the right light, while her ears are long and pointed, more swept back than upright. She keeps her hair long and unbound, letting it rest at mid-back length. The rest of her appearance shifts at her own whimsy. Like other Eladrin, Anasfyra takes on the form of the season most fitting to her. This season may change from day to day, causing her appearance to shift.
Autumn: In this form, Anasfyra appears similar to a normal elf, though her hair becomes a deep red. Upon closer inspection, her skin also seems a bit more reddish-orange than normal.
Spring: One of her most pronounced forms, Anasfyra's spring appearance has her skin and hair take on a green hue. Her hair in particular turns the same shade as her eyes, ending in tips of bright pink, similar to a blooming flower.
Summer: This season is the second most pronounced of her forms. Her skin appears normal, but is tinged with gold. Her hair, however, turns a bright, light gold, almost seeming aflame in the right lighting. While in this form, Anasfyra's presence commands greater attention and almost seems to radiate heat.
Winter: Winter sees Anasfyra's hair turn a snow white, while her skin pales. Her entire appearance seems to feel colder, as if she were embodying winter itself.
In all of these forms, save for Winter, Anasfyra prefers bright and loose clothing - normally dresses of fine make. She also generally wears attention grabbing jewelry and ornamentation. In her Winter form, she chooses more subdued colors and wears minimal jewelry.
Character Background: Noble
Detailed Backstory:
Born the first child of the current head of the Silath'Nai family, Anasfyra was groomed to be the next ruler of the family holdings. Her early life was spent under the watch of expensive tutors, maids drawn from the lower nobility of her family's land, and the occasional martial instructor. Very little time was spent with her parents. Anasfyra's mother's focus was spent away from home navigating the court of the Queen of the Eladrin. Her father dedicated his energy to the land and people whom they ruled over, a task made all the more difficult due to the lands being located in the Feywild.
All seemed to progress as planned for the noble family, up until Anasfyra's 20th year. On the eve of her birthday, a deeper, greater power took notice. A powerful Archfey, whom refused to provide its name, declared itself to be the noble scion's patron, bestowing gifts of fey power in return for services rendered. Of course, these services were inscrutable even to the fey-familiar Eladrin family. At times, the girl was asked to plant flowers in unusual patterns. On another occasion, she was tasked with ensuring the downfall of a craftsman in Silath'Nai lands without revealing her hand in the event. Never once did she or any around her think to refuse the requests of the powerful entity.
For another century, Anasfyra handled both her duties as a noble daughter as well as mortal avatar of a higher power. The House of Silath'Nai found itself grow in power some decades, while others saw it recede, and often, these changes in fortune could be traced back to an odd, forgotten quest handed down by the Archfey. When an unusual request was handed down to Anasfyra, it was almost met with a feeling of relief amongst her family and attendants. Unlike all requests before it, this one took the girl beyond the borders of both the Silath'Nai lands and the Feywild. For reasons unknown to any but the patron, Anasfyra was asked to travel to the city of Adenguard and open communications between that land and her homeland.
Preparations began immediately. Once more, Anasfyra found herself under the eye of tutors. Lessons and refreshers on Common, cultures beyond the Feywild, and diplomacy were condensed down from years to months. By the end of that year, the girl left her home plane for the first time. Traveling to the city was both a long and short affair. A great distance needed to be traveled within the Feywild itself, but the distance traveled on the material plane was particularly short. To any within Adenguard who may have been watching, it almost seemed as if a procession of carriages of great craftsmanship appeared just when their attention lapsed. Where once was clear road, there were now three carriages sitting before the city gates. Within the first was an unusual elf-like being that those familiar with would label one of the Eladrin. The remaining carriages held goods, both to aid Anasfyra in building a home within the city and to act as tribute to grease the wheels of bureaucracy. Around them, a half-dozen Eladrin and Fairy attendants flitted about, checking on fragile cargo and speaking with the gate guards.
Example Post of what your character would be doing right now. Write this like how you would in the campaign.
Anasfyra sat at her desk, head propped up by one arm while the other fiddled with a quill. One of the Fairy attendants had asked her to write a letter to be sent home with the next messenger, but the task seemed so... boring. Another minute passed by, this time seeing the addition of a tapping foot to the noble girl's anti-boredom arsenal. When that failed to help, she hopped up from her chair, deciding that a later her could handle it.
Prancing over to her window, she popped it open, taking in the fresh air. Even now, she could see the darkness gathering to the north. Some may worry, but she felt giddy with excitement. Whatever was going on there, her patron wanted her to figure it out and stop it. Sure, it could be dangerous... but it would be an adventure, and who could say no to that? Grinning widely, she popped out of existence, then reappeared across the room standing in front of her wardrobe.
The day called for something bright, as did all days, she conceded to herself. Throwing on a loose, flowing green dress with red and white detailing, she readied herself to climb out of the window she opened just moments before. It was, perhaps, below her station to behave that way, but if she took the stairs, her attendants would give her that look of theirs that she got whenever she put off her work. Skipping back to the window, she made a quick pitstop at her desk to grab an amulet of obviously fey origin, sending an absentminded thank you to her patron. With nothing else stopping her, she perched in the windowsill, counted to three, then leapt down from the second story.

Character Name: Thrudor
Character Race: Lizardfolk
Character Class and Subclass: Druid Cirlc of Stars
Character Background: Hermit
Detailed Backstory: Thrudor was born in one of the few lizardfolks tribes residing in the north. From an early age he had an affinity to nature. He fed animals and nursed them back to health when ill. He helped his village near the Stroud Woods grow crops and live in harmony with their surroundings. He caught the eye of a traveling druid Gore, who asked Thrudor's parents to allow him to be trained as a druid. From that point on Thrudor lived and trained to become a druid. He often visited the village he grew up in throughout his training, helping where he could. However, as he grew older and studied he became more secluded, tending to stay in the Stroud Woods near the village. He became obsessed with the stars and how they fit in the natural order and balance of the realm. When he finished his training, he stayed and now lives in Stroud Woods where he studies the flora and fauna but also continues studying the stars. The cosmos provided him insight to the happenings of the realms, not specific details, but omens both good and bad. One summer night, he saw in the stars on odd occurence. He reported this to the Archdruid Goodall, the leader of his order and his mentor Gore. Together looking through records of history found the last time this occurence was seen in the stars, a great calamity fell upon the realm. Thrudor returned to the Stroud Woodswhere winter began to set in too early....
Example Post of what your character would be doing right now. Write this like how you would in the campaign. Upon returning to his hut, he lit a fire and made some vegeatable soup from his garden. He noticed the animals and birds moving south. This was a bad omen....was it the calamity he saw he wondered. Migration patterns were unsettled, summer quickly turning to fall and winter.....Something was not right. As he finished his soup and packed his bags for a journey to the northern parts of the woods, he heard the squawkings of birds....not a few, but flocks flying south....This was not right so he quickly grabbed his things and went outside where he spoke with some birds that had landed in trees surrounding his hut. "Hello my friends. What has happened" He kept it brief so they could understand and answer. The birds spoke of a gold headed human killed. Thrudor understood this to be a king...The king of the north killed he thought to himself "Is this why you fly south" The birds told Thrudor winter was coming....He thanked them with some seeds and headed south as well to warn the closest druidic enclave in Adengard of the trouble that is brewing in the north.
Character Description Elias Lonesong has a nice Dark Brown mop of a hair sat upon his head, Never cared to unless he needs to and constantly messy. The hair smells of fish and, well, saltier fish. His face is dotted with freckles upon his lightly tanned skin, His eyes a dark golden color and his Face always filled with excitement. His Upper body is covered in nice leather gear, Resembling that of a beginner piolet despite his fear of heights. However he would say that the clothes match his "Aesthetic" in a sense. His hands have nice leather gloves on worn out to fit his hands comfortably. His lower body, like his upper, has leather gear on resembling a beginner piolet. His pants have leather straps on to hold two spare daggers incase he needs them. His boots are muddy and rather big for someone of his size. Combined the Human stands at 5'8 rather mediocre as he would say. His build isn't the burliest or the biggest but it helps with his ability to move quickly and quietly.
Detailed Backstory Elias Lonesong was born into the Lonesong family by Jebidiah and Mesia Lonesong, He was the result of a fling during a meeting between two rival companies. While having a abundance of role models to look up to from both of his parents respected companies...Well, Respected and known in their Hometown. Both of the companies were kitchen companies, Local Kitchens that wanted the other one to sell their food to them in order to sell it to their customers. Far to complicated I know. Elias was a natural sneak, Hiding from his parents when the need to cook or clean arises Well, Not really. As much as Elias thinks he's a great hider he actually is just mediocre. His parents just felt bad for him. Soon after Turing 16 He found himself working and cleaning in a local kitchen away from his Parents "War". One unfortunately day he found himself at the ends meet of a rather territorial group of Bears. After slaying the bears with help from the Kitchen staff, He was celebrated and adored by his Hometown. Now 17 he has made a large journey to have a "Adventure". Hopefully he won't die. Chances are he might.
Example Post of what your character would be doing right now. Elias currently resting on the floor outside the castle, Was quite calm. Surely they would recognize the Future hero of the realm right? Yeah, of course they would. He placed one leg above the other and closed his eyes. He waited and waited not worried. Mayhaps a small bullet of sweat were to fall down his face every now and then. That's just from the heat though. Yeah. He's not worried. Not worried about them not allowing him in. Not worried about if he will become the hero he should be. Not nervous at all. Well, maybe a little nervous.

He leaves a few coin with the Innkeep before heading outside and making his way towards the castle as he had seen that was where those willing to volunteer to fight up north were supposed to go. As he walked through the streets he was easily distracted by the stalls with handmade goods looking over their good before continuing on his way. With his frequent stops it was easily midday by the time he had made it to the castle gates, after a brief talk with the guards he was lead into a chamber with a few long tables as well as a handful of indivuals with arms and armor. Taking a seat it isn't too long before a servant brings a bowl of stew and a tankard of ale he finishes the stew quickly and sips his ale as he awaits the briefing on their journey.
