Small towns and villages along the Sword Coast have been sacked and put to the flame. The rulers of the powerful city-states have done nothing as they are more focused on their own political intrigue and bureaucracy. There are rumors that someone else is pulling the strings and that the attacks from raiders were meticulously planned. A band of adventurers have discovered that dragon worshiping fanatics are behind the attacks and are in pursuit.

Brief Backstory: Serge is the youngest of three brothers. His eldest brother Davron has inherited the family's small holdings in the east. The middle brother, Kost, was a noteworthy knight, who Serge squired for in his youth. Their ancestor had also been a knight of great renown, and the family name, Marshblade, came from the weapon wielded by that ancestor. The blade was said to be a powerful weapon for hunting dragons and it was passed down to Kost to wield with honor.
Some years ago, Serge set out on his own, traveling and training and always trying to live up to the family's lofty name and ideals. Recently, however, grim news has come to Serge. He has learned his brother Kost, the knight, was murdered, and the family blade taken and tossed into the sea. He has returned to seek answers for why this crime was committed. His only clue is that witnesses claimed the assassins taunted his brother with news that the 'foul weapon would never again be used against the Dragon Queen's children.'

Brief Backstory:
Bridgette was born to an orc war chief and a travelling bard... in her early life, she was pampered (as much as possible in an orc tribe) and had little in the way of struggle.
But all that changed suddenly and violently when her tribe made the mistake of going to war with the Drow of the Underdark. The tribe's warriors were slaughtered without mercy by the servants of Lolth, and the children carried off into slavery in the Underdark. There Bridgette toiled in the darkness, trying to stay beneath the notice of her cruel masters... Her story would have ended there in the mines, if an unlikely savior had not appeared.
A powerful undead, a lich known as Lord Akkron, descended into the Underdark to avenge a grievous slight committed against him by the servants of Lolth many lifetimes ago. His undead army overran the Drow city. The terrified slaves believed that he would destroy them all next, adding them to his undead army. But... he didn't. The lich took pity upon the victims of Lolth and her servants. He personally led the refugees to the surface, to let them see the light of day again for the first time in years, allowing them to return to their homes and families.
Bridgette had neither, though. The young half-orc was orphaned and alone. With nowhere else to go, she turned to the one being who had shown her kindness and begged to be allowed to serve him. Lord Akkron saw potential in the girl, and he extended a long-dead hand to her, offering her a pact...
Since then she has served her master faithfully, standing at his side and eagerly learning what she can from him. But now he has a new task for her... something is happening on the Sword Coast that is making even the seemingly all-powerful lich uneasy. Bridgette was eager to please her master, so she set out at once to investigate and report any findings back to her master.
Brief Backstory: After attaining the age of maturity, his village by tradition sent Tonk out into the world. His father gave him these words of advice, "Be excellent to people, be brave in the face of adversity, be a righteous dude." He did his best to follow these words but was lied to and led into a life of crime temporarily until he discovered his "friends" were bogus dudes. So again, he set out to discover what the world had in store, and try to be compassionate to those in need.
Name: Seraphine Bloodrune (LINK) Race: Human Class/Subclass: Cleric (Blood)/Wizard (Blood) Background: Rewarded Brief Backstory: Seraphine Bloodrune was born in a remote village plagued by periodic invasions and internal strife. A large part of the village is made up of half-drow, or lesser drow ancestry, that fled from the underdark. From a young age, she witnessed the suffering and death of her loved ones, driving her to seek power to protect those who couldn't defend themselves. She felt a divine calling from Kiaransalee, a deity worshipped by the refugees and exiles, whose teachings particularly on the cycles of life and death resonated with her experiences. Her innate talent for arcane magic led her to the study of blood magic, a forbidden but potent field. Determined to master both the arcane and divine aspects of blood magic, Seraphine dedicated herself to Kiaransalee, blending her wizardly studies with clerical devotion. She sees herself as an agent of balance, using her powers to maintain the equilibrium between life and death, and to exact vengeance on those who upset this balance through wanton cruelty or oppression. Seraphine is driven by a desire to protect the weak and punish the wicked, restoring balance to a world she sees as deeply flawed. Appearance:
Brief Backstory: Kaelithor was born into a tribe that served a gruff topaz dragon along the rugged Sword Coast. About a decade ago, the dragon mysteriously disappeared, causing the tribe to scatter. Determined to survive, Kaelithor toughed his way through the wilderness, eventually settling in the town of Greenest and opening "Honeyscale Hides," a furrier and tannery.. When Greenest was attacked by a dragon, Kaelithor was away on a hunting trip. Returning to find his beloved town in ruins and his shop destroyed, he was determined to help rebuild and seek justice. He set out to track down the heroes who had defended the town, hoping to join forces with them and avenge the fallen. Driven by grief and determination, Kaelithor embarked on a new journey, ready to face any challenges ahead to honor the memory of his second home.
Appearance: Powerful yet agile build. His warm amber scales gleam with a golden sheen, giving him a radiant and intimidating presence. His deep, molten gold eyes reflect a vicious cunning. Kaelithor wears simple, tough adventuring gear and will fight with tooth and claw - or with whatever he can get his hands on.

Brief Backstory: Fynna was young when the Voice touched her. It was a peaceful, drawing tone. Slowly, it coaxed her to the book in her Master's attic, the Master that saw her newfound talent, and chose to free her as his assistant. That Master is long since dead, but Fynna is ever grateful, both to he and the Voice, for giving her such an opportunity. Warlocks are not always bound by voluntary pact. For Fynna, it was not one she was aware, but one she welcomed all the same. Every word, every suggestion pushed her forward a bit more, giving her life purpose beyond the simple slave she was born as. Now it drives her here, to this place, to these others. Why? Time, and perhaps her Voice, will surely tell.
Brief Backstory: Orphaned or abandoned, he never knew which, he was adopted at a young age as a mascot of a passing Army unit. Often fighting for survival even as a youngster from the fringe element who wanted to prove he didn't belong.
A player has been chosen and they have joined the campaign. It was a hard decision to make as there are many wonderful applications. I thank everyone for applying.
