I'm Weslockes, I go by Wes, and this is another attempt at doing something weird that I've been promising for a while.
I've been DMing for about 2 and a half years, and would be looking for 4-6 people for this. Starting at 3rd level (don't make characters yet this is just to gauge interest).
So: Would anyone be interested in a Wild-West style campaign? It wouldn't be set in the American West -- it'll be a fantasy world instead, but it'll share quite a few similarities. I'm mostly thinking of this as a sandbox campaign, with a sort of plot that might get resolved at the end...or maybe not! Anyway, the plan is your characters will just do whatever the (GP) they want, and we'll roll with that!
I'll add more to this later, I don't have much time now. :)

I am very interested, and would like you to keep me in mind if you move forward. I assume this will be 2024 PHB? What happens if you have no access to the the critical role books about gun slingers?

Cool! Will do. Since the '14 and '24 PHBs are pretty much compatible, I think you can really pick your poison on this one. Now, on the other matter at hand: this is 1) a school-computer account and 2) you're talking to a broke person. I don't have any special content, either. We could try the whole content sharing thing (I actually don't know how it works) if someone else with the books joins, but I'll work on figuring out a solution. Also -- does the Gunslinger subclass not work in 2014 rules anymore, without the CR books? It was working for me recently when I added 3rd-party content.

A while back, I enjoyed a 'wild west' series that tossed in magic and monsters. The Gogotha Series by R.S. Belcher. Wild west meets Nikola Tesla (and Dr Frankenstein plus shades of Cthulhu lurking in subterranean caves!) The Six Gun Tarot / The Shotgun Arcana / The Queen of Swords / The Ghost Dance Judgement
Seems there are a few dozen 'homebrew' attempts at wild west action. A bit of Google-ing and you can find free pdf files. And plenty of websites...

If nothing else, scroll down and drool over the 'western and arcane' weapons and tools!!!
Sounds like something I could get behind…thanks @Kol_Drake!

Cool. Again, just gauging interest (so no guarantees).

I imagine you could do wild west with just the pistol listed in the 2024 PHB (I have no other books), and basically have it rifle free.

And plenty of websites...

The pdf is here >>> https://buymeacoffee.com/deadmoon/e/355401 <<< but it IS $12.50
I saw a pdf elsewhere (of course now I can't find it!!!) that was asking less than a buck for the pdf... so... look around!
