All you know of history is that the 5 kingdoms (The Sword, The Axe, The Shield, The Mask, and The Bow) have always been at war. All you parents and grandparents know of history is that the 5 kingdoms have always been at war. Even fairy tales and legends dont take place before the war. You and your party are the only people in the world who dont want to win the war, but just want to stop it. The adventure starts in the city of Oakendale (Part of The shield) in the well known tavern; Oakens-Ale. There you went to talk to the mysterious human known as Three. He has a mission for the party, a mission that will get you on track to end the war.

Name: Folzi Tarklesby Concept: Rogue-Arcane Trickster, Archaeologist background A little about me: Folzi Tarklesby was curious just like every other gnome. However, he did not have the aptitude for being cooped up in the burrows tinkering away at on some half-baked machination or with a nose planted in some arcane tome like the rest of his family. Determined to find a way to prove his worth to his clan, Folzi began about the business of exploring, particularly for lost relics. On one particular excursion through some elven ruins, he came across a particular artifact that seems to have awoke the innate magical prowess within the gnome... As the endless war has waged on, and things have looked bleak in the world and the rogue has put off his personal quest for magical artifacts. In his travels, Folzi has caught wind of a group of adventurers attempting to bring an end to the war and has made his way to Oakendale looking for the one called Three.
I have a paladin (human variant) called Ajax whose scores I rollled time ago but never had the chance to use since last game went down.
If you consider me I will take some minutes to update him to level 5.
I would really like to play also because there are no much adventures starting from a level higher than 1.
Ajax is a strong build paladin who is rational and calm but deep inside from time to time gives away to his inner anger and rage (mostly in combat but not only).
Ajax wants to stop war because he lost relatives and friends during the battles and can actually see there is no real advantage for whoever may win.
Leaving pratically nothing behind, he joined a group of adventurers in hope to change things. With them is heading to Oakendale looking for the one called Three
Archibald Dubhghall, gnome wizard. A not quite elderly gnome comes from a long line of map makers and cartographers. Tired of the war he was tasked with mapping some of the feywild. Something must have happened because the time he spent there has been erased from his memory and his spellbook is gibberish. (Uses the same speed book, but more comes clear to him as he levels up) Looking to end the war and relearn everything he once knew sets off adventuring.
"Hello there! Halfer Nimblefingers here...where are we going? You need me to steal something? I can pick a lock like nobodies business...wait a minute....uhm I don't do that sort of thing. Just here to go on an adventure....love adventures...so exciting, seeing new people and places bringing back things I uhm find yeah that's it stuff I find which doesn't belong to anyone else cause it's found!" a great big smile on my face.

Halfer Niblefingers lvl 5 Rogue - A War with No End
Started in 82 and played until the early 90's. Migrated to dial up BBS and played pbp.
Played: D&D, Gamma World, MERP, Star Wars, Star Trek
Through a series of political "quid-pro-quo", Sogasri was given a place as a Knight of the Realm. This was done largely due to the upswing of the Church of the Dead. Far from evil, they are more in the line of standard priest work, offering comfort during times of grief, and protecting its congregations during times of need. Many undergo martial training so as to be prepared to go wherever their flock might need them. The war reaches everywhere, afterall.
Sogasri is no exception. He is determined to help his church tie itself firmly to the kingdom's monarchy and its people. He even has the favor of the high priest in this mission. As such, he is caught in an awkward position: while the king and the high priest have officially agreed to let him act as a sort of "Knight Errant," unofficially both still hope to sway him into carrying out their own agendas.
However... Sograsi is not a typical priest. He has been contacted by a celestial charged with escorting souls to their final resting place. This celestial wants his assistance in shepherding these souls, and protecting them in their mortal bodies so that they die at their appropriate moment. The war has gone on too long, and the gods themselves don't show any sign of intervening. This celestial has taken the initiative to put Sograsi on this mission. To that end, he has granted Sograsi power and a touch of the very essence of death and the upper planes.
Sograsi knows that this will not be a popular decision amongst mortals or immortals, and will do his best to keep his end goals to himself until his mission gains momentum.
Sograsi will be a human - variant Death Domain Cleric with the Noble- Knight variant background. I basically see him as a respectable Death Knight. He is an engine of destruction on the battlefield, and a comforting presence off it. I'm not sure if this will fly with you, but I'd like to have a custom cantrip thrown in to really give him a cool vibe and mechanic - a necromancy cantrip in the same sort of style as Green Flame Blade or Booming Blade, but with the Chill Touch effect. I basically want to be able to take advantage of his martial weapons proficiency, and make it great. With a necromancy version, he'd be able to use his Reaper class feature to attack (in melee) two targets that are next to each other. I figured something like this:
"make a melee weapon attack against a single creature. On a hit, the target suffers the normal effect of a weapon attack and can't regain hit points until the start of your next turn. If you hit an undead target, it also has disadvantage on attack rolls against you until the end of your next turn. This spell adds 1d8 necrotic damage when you reach 5th, 11th, and 17th level."
I understand that with multiclassing, it has potential for extraordinary abuse (i have no intention of multiclassing), and that even without multiclassing, it could potentially be OP (divine strike, the Channel Divinity: Touch of Death, and Inescapable Destruction all play really well to this sort of thing), but since I could really just scoop up Booming Blade and do it anyways, i figured I'd at least make it thematically appropriate. If you don't want to do this, I'd understand, or if you wanted to leave it open for adjustment either now or later on in the game, that's fine too. I just wanted something to make him feel like a real Death Knight that you could actually play in a non-evil campaign. If you have questions about the deity, I imagined something along the lines of Urogalan ( http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Urogalan ).

My character is a human wizard named Farin. He was a bastard child, so when he was born, his mother delivered him to a nearby city of dwarves. They took him in and raised him as one of their own. He was an incurable prankster, and soon took up an interest in magic for its potential in pranking. To save up enough funds to go to Wizard School, he worked as a blacksmith's apprentice. However, his time at Wizard School was short-lived: he was expelled for using the spell Suggestion to get a fellow student to dance naked in front of the class. He is currently occupied with amassing enough magical power to get back at the school for expelling him with an elaborate prank they will never forget, and has taken to adventuring in order to fund his research.
As you all make your way towards the tavern, you pass the market and surrounding shops at the heart of the city. Each of you remember that you had (as a group) gathered (or in Halfer Nimblefinger's case, stole) for each member to get 500 gold. Looking at the sun, one of you points out that you have time to shop before meeting with Three.

Farin is a tall man with a stern face, whose grey eyes peep out from underneath thick, bristling brows. His coiled brown locks are shorn about his shoulders, and he is clad in a travel-stained blue cloak and absurdly large black boots. A great walrus mustache completely covers his mouth, and his long, elegantly braided beard is tucked into a golden belt. In his hand he holds a gnarled wooden staff with a rough white gem help to its tip by sprawling fingers of wood.
After purchasing 10 Potions of Healing, Farin looks around for an opportunity to cause trouble. Someone wealthy or important would be a preferred target... Perception: 10.
By the way, I am an abjurer, although I play more like an illusionist.
Yahlfel looks miserable for a halfling. Gray beyond his years, he wears a dully patterned set of cover-alls littered with patches and improvised pockets. His hair; slightly shaggy-er than typically accepted, yet still clean shaven. His skill in the arcana made him an asset. Yahlfel never liked the term "mercenary". That was for humans and orcs. He was a problem solver, a cold, calculating maker of results. he has worked for multiple sides of this never-ending war but never two sides at the same time he is proud to tell. Yahlfel has a penchant for gambling and drinking but is truly good at heart. Comrads lost and fortune squandered has left him looking for an end to it all.
Are we assuming standard load-out +500 gold to purchase items or 500 gold to arm ourselves from naked? Also, for wizards, do we go with the number of known spells as 6 + 2x every level after first, assuming they haven't come across any spells to copy into the spellbook across 5 levels (or maybe a "spell buy" somehow using the 500 gp?)?
OOC: DM - Are you planning on running one game for all 10 of us? If so, I may bow out. These things don't tend to go well when you get over 6 players. Would you consider running two groups?

Yeah, if I can buy spells, I retract my earlier purchase.

Sogasri has a rather plain, pale face, but he wears a fine set of leather boots, and wool clothes with brass buttons and fine gold filigree along the shoulders, with a pattern of a hooded man holding a shepherd's can embroidered on the chest. He walks comfortably with his arms and armor, but has a generally kind face. He rests his hands on his belt as he peruses the wares of the shops, purchasing the items he'll need to be ready to complete the mission. He haggles a little, but not very hard. He seems uninterested in the money.
