Hello all, I’m looking to add one more game to DM here. I’m looking for a group of 5 starting out at level 5. Roll stats only - always reroll ones is fine. Begin with starting equipment with the addition of 1 uncommon magic item.
You are a follower in the temple of Torm. Selected to become a member of the White gauntlet a special force of righteousness and honor across the entirety of Faerun.
I’m looking for players to be able to post at least once a day, looking to provide a good amount detail for RP. But I will make sure there’s a good amount of combat and intrigue. This does not mean you can only play a Cleric, monk, or Paladins. All races and classes are accepted, just provide your backstory of how you became a follower of Torm. application will go as such:

Name: Skorn Metalshaper
Race/Class: Hill Dwarf Forge Cleric
Background/Backstory: Growing up in a Shield Dwarf clan in the North, Skorn showed an aptitude with metalworking from an early age. He was taken on as an apprentice, and his talent with metalworking of any kind soon grew legendary in the clan. His devotion to Torm grew as well, which was his clan's patron god. In a dream one night, Torm spoke to him. He devoted himself as a cleric of Torm, and was given even more powers over the Forge as a reward. He is never satisfied with his work, however, always believing he can improve and make it better.

Name: Anborn
Race: Human
Class: War Cleric
Background: As the third of five children in a noble house, Anborn was seen as being an extra child. And since his family didn't want to burn resources on a child that likely wasn't going to factor into the inheritance equation, they decided on his tenth birthday to send him off to a monastery where he would learn to be a Cleric of Torm. And he did well in his new life. While he lost his life of luxury and noble privileges, he found things that he never had before. Purpose, a sense of belonging, connection to a higher power. He was finally more than another mouth that his parents had to feed. He became a devoted Cleric, pouring himself into his studies and working to become strong so that he could defend the weak, just like Torm commands.

Name: Kara Vardenkeep
Race/Class: Elf/Warlock
Background/Backstory: From a young age, Kara had access to strange abilities, occasionally hearing a strange voice in her dreams, turning them into nightmares. This led to many people being overly cautious of her, even her own parents at times. Feeling the obvious unwantedness directed towards her, she decided to travel. During her travels, she had met a woman who told her many wonderful stories of a warrior and his adventures, so kind as to even gift her a book of these many stories. Shortly after this meeting, Kara found herself, strangely, following the ways of this warrior in the stories, his name Torm. She now continues her travels, feeling as if she has a path of sorts to follow now, grateful for her formerly unfortunate upbringing for showing her this path.
Background/Backstory: Disappointed in power hungry egotistical mages, came to to the the Temple of Torm to become a cleric. But was convinces that her magic attunement and knowledge would serve better as they are and continued her studies, now with the noble purpose.
Background/Backstory: she always had an anger problem growing up. Her parents sent her to the temple to have the priests teach her about the gods in hopes that religious studies would calm her down and they could help control her anger. The priests at the temple saw that her anger was a great power and chose to harness it for holy purposes instead.
Sage, Bacatory: Misery was a cursed child of two elves and was cast away to the Temple where they would visit him every now and then. He was a gloomy child with an odd sense of amd was primarily interested in the divine and arcane knowledge of the Temple. As he was growing up, his natural charisma was used by the Temple and they trained him to become the preacher and the propagandist. He succeeded at it and rose in ranks, never forgetting the person who first accepted him to the temple, Mother Seliph.

Name: Oskar Glorenthar
Race/Class: Dwarf/Ranger (Gloom Stalker)
Ability scores: 141110161111
Oskar is small even for a dwarf. Not excessively so, but enough that his clan leaders selected him for the role of the stronghold’s scouts, where he began his training as a ranger in the Underdark. After years of developing his skills he had finally gained the right to be called “ranger” and was part of a patrol as a full member for the first time.
He doesn’t know what the thing they stumbled upon is called, just that it oozed evil, and power. He was one of two survivors and the encounter haunts him still. He left the stronghold in shame, unable to shake the fear that still grips him when he thinks of that day.
Of course he is still a devoted follower of Moradin. But one night he had a vivid dream he swears was an instruction from his deity. He would find a join the White Gauntlet, an organization of followers of Torm dedicated to duty and righteousness. With them he could repent, regain his sense of obedience and return to the path Moradin wants him on. So, to the White Gauntlet he went and now works to clean the stains of his shame while making the world a better place.
Thasa is as much a follower of Torm as any cleric or paladin but his role in his service to his god is based in the shadows rather than in a holy light. His training in the ways of the God of duty have been extensive but so has his education in a wide range of the stealthy and sometimes less polite skills. When the enemies of Torm need to be found or information needs to be acquired, especially when it must remain a secret afterwards Thasa is often the one the White Gauntlet look to. With lightning reflexes and a discerning mind he can pick a pocket, spot a hidden doorway and piece together the clues to discover the location of a lost relic just as well as he can fight with blade and bow.
Background: It was written or so it seems to Korsh now.
It all began in the black keep of the Zhentarim lord, Fenril Bleuflame, his father.
While all of his clan mates turned toward the warrior's path he never really enjoyed the training and the thrill of battle. He was more bookish and a lore seeker. For a long time he didn't even know what he was looking for. Then in the back of a closed room, a forgotten book on the shelves of a dusty shelf he finally found his calling in the form of Azran. The Light Caller, a Celestial bring and a follower of Torm. He also found out the lies he had been told all of his life. Evil was not the answer.
Knowing that he would never be accepted and with the help of his newfound powers he ran away. He knows that he is being hunted, for his father and the Black Network cannot let the affront go. they need to make an example out of him or risk having others following his example.
Korsh has stood his ground and fought the two assassins sent for him. The last one almost killed him but he was saved by .. (another character ? )
Alright there is enough interest. I’ll close it in order to limit the list of people who didn’t get in. I’ll send a group pm to all that got in. Everyone else, I’m sorry I wish I had the time and skills to do a bigger game. Hope you find a good game soon.
