Recruiting for the HeroQuest Campaign. The heroes are just beginning their journey and are on their way to Golden Crown, the capital of the Empire. The heroes were trained by the renowned Guardian of the Realm; known as Mentor. But he is not the only hero in the land. A tournament of a sorts is occurring in the capital and that is where you are. Whether you are one of the ones turned away, someone in the audience watching the monumental event, or currently contending; or even just someone along the road, we will find out. Will you join the adventurers and become a Guardian of the Realm yourself?
We are looking for two or more players to join. If you are interested and have any questions please post here. I am happy to add you to the group.
Starting lv is 1, with the potential to go max lv if players desire. Players may choose to leave the campaign earlier than that if they wish; I just ask for a heads up so that we can write your character out of the story.
Currently posts are a bit sporadic. We had been waiting for about half the group to post, and then they sadly didn't. I would prefer at least one post a day, but if we are able to increase posting rate that would be a good thing. I am able to post regularly, as I am currently unemployed, but as for the rest of the group it is hard to tell because we had all been waiting on the others to post.
Thanks for all the interest. Please submit a link to your character and a brief description on the OOC thread. There are examples from the existing, and previous players. The current characters are Addi the Sorcerer, Luna the Cleric, and Branra the Barbarian. Vadek the Artificer will be joining later, as I am moving him from our one on one campaign to this one. Hope to see you there and I hope you enjoy the campaign.
Last question: Content sharing? doesn't make too much difference before levels 3-4, but I am but a simple freebie player on beyond, despite how I enjoy some of the more unusual subclasses.
Ah, I see - I don't think you misunderstood the question, necessarily, but there is a feature on Beyond that allows players in the same campaign to turn on "content sharing," which allows any purchases made by one player to be made available to the rest of the party's characters. I believe that during these pandemic times, WotC announced that they were upping the limit on how many content shares were allowed per account, so I was wondering if you or someone else plans to open that feature. As I said, I am but a simple freebie player, and will work with what is offered for free on the sight, even though it limits my opportunities to a few subclasses (they will be enough, especially since UA is still in early access and so is freely available).
Fraa Redrik belongs to an ancient and esteemed monastic sect called The Cartasian Discipline, founded some centuries ago in the far North-East, in a recently reclaimed imperial province that lies nearly on the borderlands of the Chaos Waste itself. So far from the guiding light of the Empire, those who held the The Discipline were forced into extreme isolation, garnering their small valley in the Witherpeaks a fearsome reputation as a home of fell and savage beasts. The reality is somewhat less romantic, as the region was strictly patrolled by armed members of the order, a tradition enduring into modernity in an effort to retain spiritual, philosophical, and political freedom through non-intervention, discipline, and precise use of defensive force. The timely aid of the Mentor himself was, for The Discipline, their only real interaction with the outside world through all that time. During the dark years of isolation , the Mentor's infrequent visits every few decades or so brought news of the wider world, in exchange for solace and safety in an otherwise dangerous region. When the Mentor called for new recruits in heroism to come, the monks of Saunt Cartas answered, sending the best of their young acolytes in reply. Unfortunately, that young one suspects that he was sent away not for his abilities, but for his dispensability to The Discipline. Dark things now lurk along paths once thought safe, and the shadows stretch further and further in the Borderlands to the North...
That young Acolyte is Fraa Redrik of the Cloister Mathonwy, known familiarly as Redrik of Mathonwy, or simply Redrik. His story might begin as a more recent student at the Mentor's training facility, or perhaps as one sent to join the party on their way into the Empire, bearing a letter with the Mentor's seal alongside the venerable markings of the High Wardens Ultim, Søren, and Yosef.
All names and terms subject to DM review and approval. While some oddities in lexicon may appear, most such words are commonly used in and among Cartasian Concents (alternatively known as Cloisters when further divided) and are the result of linguistic shifts over a great length of time.

what is starting level and how far do you expect this game to go level wise?

Interested - what does your campaign's post frequency look like? Roughly what times of day are you all active?

As long as it can be build on D&D Beyond and appears on your character sheet, I'll allow it :)
Or did I misunderstand the question?

Also, standard array, point buy, or rolling for scores?

Point Buy, totally forgot to post that.
Sadly I am also a freebie player/DM myself; but if others wish to, and are able to, share than you are free to use them.
Please reshare your character info on the OOC Thread, link above. I'm eager to see a Monk in the group; will be fun to have.
