I just need clarification of a spell like this one includes spell attacks (roll) as well as the attack rolls. Thanks:
"The protection grants several benefits. Creatures of those types have disadvantage on attack rolls against the target. The target also can't be charmed, frightened, or possessed by them. If the target is already charmed, frightened, or possessed by such a creature, the target has advantage on any new saving throw against the relevant effect."
It truly is. Players in my campaign recently went up against a coven of hags and put this to use going in. It didn't make the encounter trivial, but it did help them stave off some of the worst.

When it is not specified, attack rolls entails both weapon and spell attack rolls.
That is an awesome spell that I had previously ignored.
