I have a rule question about translation of words using "mind bond". Does it work as a translater if I command my animated deads to do so in their mind? I know they cant speak but they still understand the language they knew from before. In my understanding they should be able to understand the language and be able to just have said words inside of them (like thinking of them) but in the language I have decided them to use (if they knew it from before).
Struggling to know what you're actually asking but I think it's if you can use animate dead and have the zombie/skeleton translate something for you.
The answer is no.
The animated target retains only the bare minimum of what it knew in life. Also, it can't communicate with you. There is no "mind bond" - you can mentally issue a command, which it obeys, but it cannot mentally answer you back, interpret psychic imagery, or anything like that. It's just a command.
Skeleton: "They can’t read, speak, emote, or communicate in any way except to nod, shake their heads, or point"
Zombie: "A zombie retains no vestiges of its former self, its mind devoid of thought and imagination. "

If I missed your point, I apologise and ask that you rephrase.
