It's worth noting that 5th edition D&D monsters are different to previous editions in this respect, especially 3rd edition.
3rd edition assigned monsters a type and then you had to check what the abilities/immunities were for that type, as well as those for the specific monster.
5th edition has abandoned this in favour of listing all of the information you need within each monster's stat block.
In short, if a monster doesn't explicitly state that it has an ability or immunity/resistance, then it doesn't have it.
Can an undead creature, such as a vampire, take psychic damage from a mystic?
If the creature does not have resistance/immunity to psychic damage in the stat block, it can.
