Hi everyone. I was just wondering if there are any free pdf rules on the internet, that contain all of the rules. Or do I have to buy the books? Im asking because I know that there are many sub-classes for each class, but the pdf I downloaded includes only one sub-class for each class.
Stormknight alluded to the answer, but there are no "free" versions of the published sourcebooks. Sharing and distributing them would technically be copyright violations, but I imagine sharing physical books between players in a group might be fairly common. You are expected to buy them -- either in paper or on a digital platform of your choice, such as D&D Beyond.
But as a note: you don't need paper books, you can certainly survive with just the D&D beyond version.

Hi there,
the Basic Rules is available here on D&D Beyond for free, or on the Wizards of the Coast website, as a pdf for download.
As you noted - it contains the rules, along with core classes, with one subclass for each of those classes.
Other subclasses, races, spells etc, are found within the published sourcebooks, such as the Player's Handbook.
