im playing a rogue in 3.5 and my dm told me that sneak attack can only be use once on an ennemy exemple : there is 1 ennemy i use sneak attack on him and on all other rounds agains it i cannot use sneak attack again because i used it once on him ??? please can someone explain to me if true why and if its not true to explain it to me so i can tell him the same thank you (im fairly new to the game and even though i check on the web theres always doubts again thank you for any reply that i can get
The rogue’s attack deals extra damage any time her target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC (whether the target actually has a Dexterity bonus or not), or when the rogue flanks her target.
I think you should realise and be prepared for the fact that if your DM says you can't do it... Then you can't do it.
This.
If your DM asked you to come here and get clarification, that’s one thing. If you came here to “prove your DM wrong” then I strongly recommend against that. The DM’s word is final at the table, period. You should not be trying to second-guess the DM. I don’t care if you read the rules and they say something different, if you think the DM is 100% wrong. You can politely discuss it with the DM but the DM’s word is law at the table, and if the DM says no, it’s no. Period. Nothing we say matters.

WOTC lies. We know that WOTC lies. WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. We know that WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. And still they lie.
Because of the above (a paraphrase from Orwell) I no longer post to the forums -- PM me if you need help or anything.
Any DM not willing to recognize and accept when they have made a mistake should turn in their screen. If they made a mistake let them know. If they specifically ruled against the book then that’s a different situation.
I agree, a GM should admit mistakes. But players should not be coming here to prove their DM wrong. That is just not the relationship you want to have with your GM. If the DM is that bad leave the game.

I completely agree except that houserules should never be sprung on players. Changing a core feature like this on the fly is only going to cause problems at the table. Its totally fine to make this change to how sneak attack works but it should been brought up prior to character creation.
In this particular case the DM is wrong and denying the player the use of a core feature of the class they chose to play. I would show them the appropriate information on Page 50 the 3.5 Player's Handbook and if they made the choice to rule against the book, then you have to make the choice whether to accept that decision or leave the group.

if its 3.5 sneak attack can occur as many times as you qualify for it. There is no limit on how many times it can occur.
thank you !!!and by qualify means if you can lower their dex by a bluff ?
iirc sneak attack requires them to be flatfooted so as long they are flatfooted each attack is a sneak attack
if i am in combat with someone and use my bluff to faint him and lower his ac does it mean i can use sneak attack ?( sorry for all the question)
never mind i cheked and yes i can
