Okay, so this thread, if people wish to participate, will be discussing what would happen to the Forgotten Realms world of Toril if the Blood War were to end. There are multiple ways for this to end, but here are the 3 main outcomes that could cause this to come about:
The Demons win the Blood War, and the Devils are dead/out of the picture in someway.
The Devils win the Blood War, and the Demons are dead/out of the picture in some way.
The Demons and Devils win the Blood War, and they are both dead/out of the picture in some way.
There are probably multiple ways for this to happen, and the fallout of this will be very complicated depending on the events that lead up to this, but here are a few possible ways for the world to be changed due to this, with each listed possible sequence events correlating to the listed possible ends above. These are my own interpretations of what could happen, and you should feel free to post your version of these events below:
The Demons over-run the Nine Hells, killing all the Devils and somehow getting rid of Asmodeus (banishing him, killing him, or otherwise), then go to the Material Plane and start destroying things. The Celestials aren't powerful enough to kill them, so they destroy the Abyss, and separate the Outer Planes from the Inner Planes, causing planar travel from the Outer Planes and Astral Plane to the Inner Planes, Material Plane, and Ethereal Plane to not work, and be restricted. Most of the Material Plane is destroyed, with the Demons setting up base in the Underdark, and wizards having to protect humanity from utter destructing.
The Devils destroy/banish the Abyss, getting rid of Demons. They then have no real competition in the Lower Planes, and start conquering the Lower Planes. The Celestials are in a tough spot, and don't want the Devils to conquer the Multiverse, but also are glad the Demons are gone. They make an agreement/treaty with the Devils, saying that the Devils get the Lower Planes, the Celestials get the Upper Planes, and the Inner Planes (and Material Plane) are not to be directly interfered with. The Devils then conquer the Lower Planes, banishing Gruumsh and the Orc gods, and Maglubiet and the Goblin gods to Carceri. They then take over Mechanus, with Asmodeus pulling an Orcus (killing Primus, taking his place as leader of the Modrons), and the Celestials freak out. The claim the Devils violated the contract, the Devils tell them that they didn't. The Angels then attack Mechanus, trying to reclaim it so a new Primus can be created, and they fail with the seemingly endless army of the modrons keeping them back, with the Celestials breaking the contract. The Devils then attack the Upper Planes while the Celestials are weak, taking Mount Celestia, and forcing the remaining gods and celestials to the Material Plane, where they then ward off the Inner Planes and Material Plane and Realmspace from outside travel, with the gods having to give their lives for this great feat of magic. The Devils have the Outer Planes, the gods are dead, and the world is cut off from the outer planes.
The Celestials destroy/banish the Demons and Devils from the Multiverse in some way (which is very unlikely to happen), making them not a problem anymore. They then become the planar police, and banish the Goblin and Orc gods to Carceri or elsewhere, so their war won't effect anyone the way the Blood War did. Fiends are now not that large of a problem, with Yugoloths as the prime fiends of the multiverse, as well as hags. Orcs, Goblins, and Drow no longer have to worship their evil deities, and become free peoples. Whether the other races accept them is dependent on the execution of the events.
Okay, that's what I've got. I have more laid out for the first two possible versions of Toril, but I don't have a ton for the 3rd. What are your opinions on this? Would you do it differently? Is there anything I got wrong? Feel free to discuss below, add upon what is being discussed, and so on.
My final question before opening this thread is this: What do you think these different worlds would look like 1,000 years in the future, in your versions of events, or anyone else's? When answering this, keep in mind Firearms, Spelljammer, and possible changes to the races.
(I may add posts below with my answer to this last question, but I'll let you do so first.)
Thanks, and please comment below!

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
I see number two going different. I see the Celestials using the opportunity of the demons dying and the devils considerably weakened from however they defeated the demons to cut the lower planes off from the inner and upper planes while the devils are distracted by taking over the lower planes. Because that way, the devils can’t weasel out of any contracts, can’t get to the other planes, and takes the devils out of the picture, beginning the process of number three
Wow, #2 is very similar to what happened in one of my homebrew settings. Like, frighteningly similar. Anyway, what I think would happen for #3 would be that lots of angels would fall, because they were being 'non-good' and rushing into battle like Zariel did. So even if the demons and devils were all destroyed, some of the angels would fall and become new demons and devils.
So, here are what my worlds would be like for each scenario:
Post-Apocalyptic demonic wasteland. People are often warped by abyssal changes, civilization has mostly been destroyed, and the world is in a way similar to Fallout.
Duergar conquer the Underdark and take the Underdark drow as slaves, warping and torturing them with psionic powers. Drow on the surface become another type of people, and eventually gain different spells with spellcasting (moonbeam, light, and faerie fire), and lose their sunlight sensitivity. Orcs, Gnolls, Goblinoids, and other "bad" races are free of their demonic and devilish masters (Duergar are still evil, though).
The Celestials start an authoritarian government on the Material Plane, run with hierarchies of celestial power, Empyreans and Solars at the top, Clerics, Paladins, Celestial Warlocks, Divine Soul Sorcerers, and Aasimar at the bottom.

I'd be very interested in a variant of #2: The Devils win in Avernus, but lack the strength to do more than halt the demon incursion and force them out, essentially creating a Stalemate. The war is technically over, and the armies 'stand down,' but...
The Blood War becomes a cold one, with agents for either side traveling between the realms recruiting allies
Devils begin the process of transforming Avernus back into the 'Paradise of Temptation' it was originally, but many factions like the current landscape, and resist the change. The floating market becomes larger, more lavish, and more inviting -- but also a battleground for those who want/don't want things to change.
With fewer lesser corrupted souls needed for fighting, more soul coins are forged than ever before, and mighty battle fortresses patrol every corner to keep order and hunt rogue demons stranded when the retreat was sounded.
Displeased with a stalemate, leadership of both sides intensify their intercine conflicts, angling for a way to invade and conquer once more
Celestials and their agents pick off any stragglers and try to work with neutral parties to disrupt any nascent power gathering on either side
I'd be very interested in a variant of #2: The Devils win in Avernus, but lack the strength to do more than halt the demon incursion and force them out, essentially creating a Stalemate.
This is pretty much is happening in the Blood War now. The demons will occasionally get into Avernus, but are quickly repelled.

Okay, I've been working a ton on what the world, in my version of the events, would look like 1,000 years into the future. The world's name has been changed a bit, no longer Toril, but now Tor-eal (Tohr-ee-ahl).
It's definitely not done, and very specific to my version of events as they happen, but it's what I've got so far, and I'd just like to see what people think.

Idk enough to offer my own opinion, but I had a question. Is the thing in 4e Manual of the Planes where they rearrange the planes and the Abyss is at the center of the Elemental Chaos instead of being one of the Lower Planes still canon in 5e? Or did they get rid of that and go back to the original planar structure from Planescape?
Thanks 😊. Sorry, I don’t mean to hijack the thread, I just find cosmology fascinating.

D&D has steadily made Good Exemplars weaker as the editions go forward. To the point that we have Deva, Planetar, Solar and then the assorted smaller things.
In that scenario whoever wins the blood war overruns.
Go back to 3.X and suddenly Good exemplars mean Archons, Gaurdinals and Eladrin and... Yeah. I'd put my money on them. They can get along even with the heavy Law vs Chaos arguments.
Whoever attacks the heavens better be prepared.
Go back to 2e and you have everything 3.x had... And the other type of Angel that was abandoned. The basic Aasimon (Angel) is... Well at default they're 8th level Clerics... Plus they have Shape change at will. So entering the upper planes with I'll intent, if you get past the exemplars that live where ever you attacked welcome to the army of 8th level Clerics tat suddenly all transform into an assortment of dragons, beholders and anything else you really don't want to deal with...
