They are pretty sure that WotC will not be extending the OGL to cover OneDnD and plan to lock out 3rd party creators. Apparently he has sources (inside and outside of WotC) that have voiced concerns.
I don't know if it is true. Just though it was interesting.
The thing is, they can't rescind the existing OGL. So even if they don't update it to include 5.5, people will still be able to make 5e content. And if the new version is truly backward compatible, it seems like it wouldn't really matter too much.
I think the first source discussed was interesting. A lot of claims were made that WotC stifled some things DDB could have already.
The rest of it is an exercise in bad thinking to stoke outrage. Ted uses this memo (I'm not sure if it was direct or secretly circulated on dumped on Reddit), the recent "monetization" confusion (to wrongly infer it means WotC's going to shut down third party creators to secure their market share, even though third party revenue in its entirety is a fraction of a percentage of WotC D&D earnings), and outrage over an NDA WotC select indy creators and influencers to sign for an air clearing discussion about the future of the OGL. The memo is concerning, but also not surprising in some ways. The misread of the point of the monetization statements is classic Nerd Immersion being in over his head when discussing, well anything outside game mechanics. And the NDA thing sounds like standard stuff WotC does when they talk to anyone about the future. It does not add up into an oppressive crack down on 3rd party creators or the let's call it D&D ecosystem outside WotC. No one's that stupid, except maybe Ted from Nerd Immersion.
The first 15-20 minutes are interesting in terms of the substance of the memo, everything else is pretty clear cut misinformation and anger mongering. The dude looks like he needs to sleep more.

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.

You're right, and this is where the DDB leaker starts sounding a little unhinged, claiming WotC knows they'll ultimatley lose but will still litigate to dismantle the OGL so that products can't be created that might compete with the One D&D roll out, and Nerd Immersion is like "but of course, we see this all the time, litigation takes for ever I'm talking out of my butt etc etc" I actually sort of felt bad for him, I guess feeling he's got to go into paranoia inflaming to keep his YouTube metrics up. He does time himself well for the sponsor breaks.

Oh please, 1DD is currently about as backwards compatible with 5e as I am with my father. Sure, there’s a lot of similarities, but just enough differences to make things really, really rough.
I wouldn’t put anything last WotC in terms of scummy business practices. That’s why I boycotted the company for a decade until 5e brought me back. I won’t be at all surprised if 1DD is what puts me back on my boycott.
