Hey, so my half-elf ranger (M) is looking to marry a full drow (F). My ranger is a little strapped for cash at the moment (not like super poor, but can't really affording anything that's gonna cost several hundred gold). Had a few ideas already, but wanted to see what other people suggest to maybe get a better idea of what to get her.
Is she an NPC or a Player Character? Her personality would influence what would be a good gift.
Something you might do is look at the lists of Trinkets for sources of inspiration. Maybe you could get the DM to let you buy something with a minor enchantment for a few gold to a couple platinum, since they're more minor than Common Magic Items, which are typically more useful for adventurers and are worth 50gp.
A minor magical trinket would make a statement, as I said. Alternatively, a nice piece of jewelry would be great, especially if you can tie the design of the jewelry to something the characters shared, such as an event/experience, so a feature of the gift illicits that memory.
A 50 gp diamond. In real world that's basically $/£ 5,000 ring.
Not only is it spiffy - it's can also be a spell component if they ever learn Chromatic Orb spell.

A glow in the dark ring.
The ranger is a PC, the drow is an NPC.
