If I had some high-quality chain or rope and attached one end to an immovable rod or a column and somehow found a way to attach the other end via noose or some other contraption to an enemy i could in theory use reduce on the chain and drag said enemy though my group, provoking attacks of opportunity; right? if the chain doesn’t break or the immovable rod is stronger than the enemy. Just some thoughts on zone control for a melee heavy party.
The rules on attacks of opportunity include this text, which means that creatures don't provoke an attack of opportunity unless they purposefully moved under their own power:
You can avoid provoking an opportunity attack by taking the Disengage action. You also don't provoke an opportunity attack when you teleport or when someone or something moves you without using your movement, action, or reaction.
There's a number of spells and abilities that force a target to use their reaction to move. Such abilities would have the victim provoke attacks of opportunity. Forced movement, via pushes or pulls, do not.

I'm fairly certain that wouldn't work.
