Is there a reason that these two UA sub classes are still available on DDB?
It is somewhat leading me to believe that they are still intending on using these in maybe the upcoming supplement book that everyone is predicting
Edit: I guess here i could also take a chance to revamp Opinion conversation on the two. Namely the Giant Soul, cause i know how most feel about the school of invention.
Per the pinned thread at the top of the Unearthed Arcana forum:
- All Unearthed Arcana content from January 2018 onward will be integrated into D&D Beyond.
- Unearthed Arcana content that was released before January 2018 is either already available in a published source, or considered "archived" and will not be available as official UA on D&D Beyond.
I wouldn't read into it. The fact that they haven't gone out of their way to tell DDB to shelve it yet doesn't mean WotC plans on moving forward with them. School of Invention in particular tested poorly.
It's very likely they'll do a mass cleanup of UA content once another big book with a lot of player options gets published.
You can find all archived 5E Unearthed Arcana on the main D&D website. If you search back far enough, you'll find that the first article in January of 2018 features the Circle of Spores druid (now in Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica), the Brute fighter (still in UA), and the School of Invention wizard (also still in UA).
